I'm confused on this. I have one of those 0% balance transfer offers. I looked into it, there is no transfer fee or any other hidden fees or things. (although I'm not sure yet how long it takes..) The credit limit on the card is like 2,500. I want to take off 500-600 off of my Discover card and put it on this one to take advantage of the balance transfer rate. I could easily pay this off within 2 months. I normally pay my full balances each month anyway, this isn't a huge debt or anything so its not a big deal, if I leave it on the Discover card.
Well, the stupid thing I did do last week is instead of paying that month's statement $150 balance, I payed $300 which took care of the balance that wasn't due yet because I planned on transferring Disover. I didn't want to get screwed with interest from that remaining $150. lol I know, smart thing would've been to just pay the full statement balance of both cards. My discover balance is actually due next week so I'm not even sure if I would still have time to transfer the balance..
Anyway, if I transfer it - Will it have a negative impact on my score? I'm confused about this because I read somewhere it's when you max out the full balances... I only want to put like 500-600 on a $2,500 card.. Not max it out. I wouldn't use it untill that is paid off. Should I do this or no?
Do I have a less chance at a negative impact if I leave it on Discover and get charged interest for one month?

Such small amounts would have no effect at all. Even if it were larger amounts the effect would be temporary or none.
New lenders look at your total debts, it doesn't matter which cards it is spread between.0 -
Like your other post, it looks like you are US based, all comments here are generally UK oriented, things may still apply but YMMV0
