Mobile Broadband SIMs

Just wondering if these prepaid SIMs can also be used in a smartphone for data access?

I tried it but there is no Internet access - would there be if I topped it up or is there a technical reason preventing it?

Thanks

normally you have to top the Sim up before the data will work and also you may have to get the internet setting from the provider.

Thanks SDDUK, I'll top it up in the knowledge that it should work...

I got a text from them about settings.

your current phone sim may have a data allowance and you could use the phone as a 'hot spot' ie dataromaing for your other devices like a laptop.
  • I do have a data allowance, Chillsky. Unfortunately Android has disabled seeing adhoc wifi hotspots by default, so I can't get my Galaxy Tab to share my HTC HD2s connection without apparently voiding the warranty or potentially bricking the tablet.

Well, from what from what I've read today, anyway.
