Have you tried access through it's web-interface?

    Yep, nothing there at all

that's right, I can't see it at all

Unfortunately, looks like i've only got a subset of linux on the drive. No sign of fsck
Busybox i am afraid/guess ;) DO you need to recover stuff off of it? I may be possible it to remove the drive and put it into a caddy , but I couldn't say whether that it will go back in and be useful, I had a similar problem with my Buffalo drive ...

aah!! think i know what's wrong!

You are on a machine and are trying to mount a remote drive (the NAS) ??
    Is your main machine Windows?

In linux you need to add in the IP or name of the NAS box into the mount options for your machine to find it!

    Example:
    sudo mount <IP address of NAS>:/dev/sda4 /media/temp

If all else fails take the driveo ut of the

NAS and plug directly into the PC and see if you can gain access to the drives

Can you see the NAS listed in network?
You might have to mount the drive physically into your desktop and boot from a Linux live disk to see if you can reapir or access the drive...

I just seen that! lol!! it's been too windy to think up here tonight >_<

But thinking that a Linux Live CD and physical access to the drive is the OP's best bet to recovering data.
They will have access to more tools in order to fix it. Since windows can't see ext3/4 formatted drives directly..

Cheers DebitCardMayhem, I've seen other stuff on the web suggesting removal of the drive. Might have to give it a go. I'm sure I got 90% of my photos back when it blew, Just thought I'd give it another go

S0litare, I'm working directly on the NAS drive through SSH rather than trying to mount remotely

Just a thought perhaps that fsck is not in the default PATH it may be in /sbin
