Early failure of low energy bulbs?

By the way- I hate low energy bulbs.:rotfl: The hall ones take ages to actually light up. But they haven't blown yet:)

I have an energy test meter, The 11w ones i tested used between 18 and 21 watts.

The original ones i paid good money for are still going strong over 10 years old, The
ones i got from tesco for 1p dont last very long.

The short spiral ones dont last as long either.

I did not realise they dimmed with age, Until i fitted a new one in the bathroom and thought
WOW i can see.

Well it was in the standard light bulb section, and had the standard bayonet fitting....

A place local to me has a space for lamps, and they are all together, and the fittings are all the same whether they are 110v or 230v.
