Adams gone into Administration?

Just found this: Despite a pick-up in trading in the run-up to Christmas, when festive trade was better than at any time in Adams's history, the retailer is fighting for its survival.

Tight cashflow forced Adams to impose a unilateral change to its rental terms late last month. The retailer told its landlords it would no longer pay quarterly in advance and would move to monthly advance payments instead.

Landlords at some stores responded by seizing control of Adams's stock and other valuable property. Adams is understood to have closed down a number of its stores at which it has not paid the rent.

Have some gift vouchers to spend so will be checking my local store in the morning!

I worked at the Hull store we were told on 5th jan our store was closing and shop was cleared and empty by the 9th were all gutted and trying to come to terms with it .

We were in Adams in Falkirk last weekend, and they were having a "Sale on Everything". We were told they're just clearing out old stock and they happened to select that branch to do it...

Just to let everyone know I went to two Adams stores today (Saturday). The first in Wimbledon as BabyA said had defintiey closed (had to go to Wimbledon anyway!) Then went to Sutton (telephoned first) and the store there is still open. Spent my Admas/nectar vouchers there no problems :T So if you find an open store they are still accepting the vouchers!

i am finding alot of shops are closing down along with Adams, and nobody knows anything about it till they've gone. it looks like we'll all be shopping on-line soon!

same here ! i had some that needed to be spent and was worried for a bit lol

but was able to use them on friday in my local store ( Bridgend)

asked the lady about the closures etc and she said that yes some had closed ,but this one wouldnt be

thats really sad, i think the adams clothes are lovely and reasonably priced too. Will have to check my nearest 2 stores, as i have £20 voucher to spend quick smart!!
