  • My dd is 2 and has started making up her own songs and goes round and round in circles in the sitting room belting them out ... yet as soon as I start to sing I am shouted at that ''I don't like that songgggggg!''

Then one day they are gone.. you sit in your home and can hear a pin drop :)
You then start talking to your cat (or OH who is snoring in the arm chair) wishing with all your heart you could have all the noise back and looking forward to their visits back home. ;)

    Agree and agree :)

Although after they're home for a week-and you're looking at the empty fridge and beer bottles, you wonder when they're going away again! :o

My mother in law gladly tells me of the times when my wife would start singing catholic songs in public at the top of her voice! She also tells me of a time when she took off all of her clothes in a public loo and started shouting 'god loves me!'

My wife isnt very religous now and its brilliant reminding her how much she would of embarrassed herself and her mum.

Record it and play it back at her 18th. Payback :-D

Actually, I do. I love her to bits and she's a good kid.

I still reserve the right to moan about her though. :D

This reminds me of when I was young and my brother was learning the clarinet. He'd be upstairs playing a piece of music through to the point where he went wrong. So he'd start again, play it to the same point, and play the same wrong note again. So he'd start again and play it again to the same point, and play the same wrong note again......... and so it would go on

He'd drive me absolutely flaming nuts.

How would you feel if it was your neighbours children scwarking the house down? You'd probably be on here complaining.

Teach your little darling the basics of being 'considerate' to those you live in close proximity to. Teach her now and it will save her a lifetime of disputes.
  • My DD (14) sings in 3 choirs and is taking her Grade 2 singing soon. We also have very intense theatrical singing all over the house. It doesnt bother me too much though, as I cant hear her over my 3 younger kids LOL

I was having a breakdown this morning rushing about getting packed lunches and hats and coats and out of the door on time and I did suddenly have a moment of thinking "Oh! what will I do when theyve all gone" I think this is cos my youngest is starting Nursery 5 mornings in Jan and I will have no baby at home for the first time in 14 years!
Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.
