cowslip do not worry, i work in a hospital and spend half my time telling people to file these ,,IN THE BIN,,just ignore.nothing will/can happen.

Funny you mention that, I went to the local hospital today and parked up in their P&D carpark. As usual I didn't bother paying and I still haven't been caught  :D

The jobsworths don't like going outside in the rain and it always rains in Wales!

Yup, at our local hospital they were in the portacabin looking out the window at the rain. They don't know how to work a car park properly. When I was a CEO for a local authority I've been out in the p*ss*ng rain to the point where my underwear was dripping wet. I didn't book anything (you can't sign a bit of paper thats being drenched within half a second in severely heavy rain) but no-one can accuse me of being a skyver. PPC staff don't have a clue but I suppose at least it stops them from scamming people :T

Have appealed against a parking ticket at a hospital (am a member of staff), fine now 80 pounds. Was parked in area where staff can park from 0930, was parked at 0918hrs. Am now being threatened with visits from a bailiff. Am very scared, what can I do?
I would appreciate advice as what to do next? Do I pay the full amount or risk bailiffs coming to my house? What rights do I have regarding bailiffs?

You have not got a letter saying 'there will be visits from a bailiff'. Debt collector letters but bailiff visit, no.

You may have the Newlyn letter chain which 'alludes to' bailiffs? But then that whole letter chain is shown in the top thread already so where's the worry here? You are just in the middle of a well-known letter-chain and can see from that thread what comes next - and it is not a knock on the door!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • You have all been fantastic. I will keep you up to date with the latest letters I will receive from County Parking.

Forgive me for being daft here but isn't this something NHS staff should be taking up with their unions ? Given the recent action on pensions ( and no, let's not turn this into a pension debate !!!! ) surely something that affects their members so badly and is so common should be taken up by the people supposedly representing their members ?

My experience of raising this with a union representing hospital staff is not at all good. They had been "involved" in the "consultation process" and had totally rolled-over to a certain PPC's bullsh1t. Their legal advice also seemed poor and they did believe the PPC concerned could pursue staff/victims.

However, I have found one chink in the armour and demonstrated to one union rep that the PPC claims were false and he at least has promised to pursue that.
