Reclaim unused mobile monthly fee???

I lost my phone last year and was just given an PAYG sim card and a friends old phone to use. I kept planning on getting a new SIM and to carry on using my contract but PAYG was too easy!

I've been really stupid and not realised I was still paying the £35 monthly fee for my phone, even though the years contract ran out before I lost it.

Does anyone know the likelihood of getting my money back?? It's an O2 contract from Carphone Warehouse. I apparently need to ring the retentions dept but don't really want another contract as i'm hardly spending on PAYG, which would probably be what they offer me. Any advice please????

likelihood of getting money back is probably nil, they've been providing you with a service, technically you just chose not to use it. Just cancel it with 30 days notice.
