Which one?
THe first one at £12.99 or the second at £29.99. Since you say you wouldn't pay more than £15 for it i'm assuming you selected the first one -- which does then mean your charged the £77.940 -
Sam you are not alone.
Everyone Beware of Cupid organisation affliated sites. There are loads with different names. I think I'll post them all later so you know.
On line dating forget it by this experience. Whatever the motives - 'fed up with clubbing, pubbin and pullin, 'squeezed for social time' 'want to find the right person the easy way' 'its all online now'. Save your cash and soul.
Ive fallen for the marketing too and been charged for a month.
Ok fool me that I didnt read the small print that says somewhere this does follow the trial period. Otherwise I would not in the first place.
I have tried to stop what are called Repeat subscriptions but the online process which takes several pages trying to draw you back in ends in a page saying cannot do this online please ring customer service. This was to an international site. I tried this and the telemarketing person tried like online to convince me to stay and then having given a code and my log on details the phone cut dead. My profile is still up there! I had to do this on both sites I got affliated to when I registered. I have written them emails on their contact us page and got replies that they dont accept cancellations by post you have to make this international call centre call.
Do I have to do that?
Cupid own several dating sites and cleverly try to get to you on more than one as pop ups come up along the lines of 'get noticed more by clicking on affiliates'. I did it last week and thought I had signed up for 3 day trial. 2 days was enough to convince me after many 'messages' from women scamming for things such as webcam sex' (is such a thing possible) Russians and 'Pretty Woman' hookers and non replies or cut and paste winks and messages from so called 'normal' profiles. Conclusion that I must have signed up for the wrong one - innocently called Dating for Parents (single) com. I had also apparently been affiliated by clicking affiliates to the cheeky sounding BeNaughty site.....if only!
I was checking my bank account come day 3 and noticed that Cupid had debited my account for months payment. Then followed my attempts to cancel online as described above. I have not recieved notification yet that they have cancelled 'repeat biilling'. Should I phone, should I just go to my bank and ask them to stop? Can I get a refund (I doubt it)? Shall I ring the international call centre again?
One things for certain - Online dating - dont get conned again.
Now I'm one of the 'online' disillusioned ones.
I might start up a StaySingle site!!! LOL0 -

unfortunately with the dating sites you do really need to read any of the other print alongside the cost!
If you have messaged people or responded, went into any of the other facilities, chatted or what not then im afraid this would be classed as " using their services"
just be careful in the future and use this as a lesson! its nice of them to give you a refund of one of the payments as most wouldn'd do it and just shrug it off as mistake and read things in the future!5lb a Month Challenge 2012:j
Be happy! Beauty is both inside & Out!0 -

Don't reply to the above anastasiam person, you have no idea who they are.0
-
Easy for you to say if you can find the small print - some people aren't so practised.... but yes lesson learnt
Vuvuzela - dont worry I have no intention of replying - especially as I have written to the online agencies making the request to remove profile, end repeat subscriptions and if they could kindly refund me (no hope on the last I figure, but if they do I'll let you all know) AND they have all my details! So get to it AnastasiaM - The sites I mentioned.
RE 'Found my partner on POF etc - seen that post loads of times on other forum sites, identical - the online dating agencies mus be monitoring all traffic to help protect and build their brands.
OK thats enough whinging and warning - lesson learnt.0
