I feel guilty about neglecting my diary :( but I just don't think I have anything much of interest to say on a regular basis!!

    So the update is this:

I started my new job last month. It's strange to feel like the 'new girl' but I'm sure that will pass with time.

I heard back from my PPI claim. They are not disputing it and today I filled in the paperwork and sent it off. They gave me two options - a cheque for the amount I have paid (plus interest) and the balance off the outstanding loan or the whole amount off the outstanding loan. I decided to take the cheque option as my cc's are a higher interest rate than the loan so if I've got this right, it should be better to pay off the cc's first. Anyway, I've done it now so it's too late to worry :) That will be £1233 to put towards a cc in about 4 weeks time :j

I made my first 'big' payment to my 30% cc today. I paid £750 off it. It's weird seeing the money in my bank account but I know the mortgage people said they would cancel the payments for 3 months and they appear to have done this.

I'm beginning to see a wee light at the end of the tunnel :T

I've started filling out a budget sheet at long last. I don't why I couldn't muster the motivation to get this done before now. I just kept putting it off :( Maybe next weekend I'll spend some time doing the snowball calculator then I'll be able to sort out my signature again.

I'm thinking about how best to record my daily spending. I've tried writing it down but I feel a bit silly writing my spends in a notebook when I'm out and about. By the time I get home I'm never convinced I've remembered everything so I'm not sure how accurate my spending diary is.

I noticed I can get free money management apps for my phone. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good one? I think I might be more inclined to record my spends on my phone than in a book.

I used a cash back site to click through to a utilities provider and changed to a new company. The deal was £40 cashback. No sign of it in my cash back account and because I put it in my diary on here I could tell them the exact date when I queried it. Unfortunately they cannot trace by click through and I won't be getting the money :(:(

Hope everyone is keeping warm in this chilly weather x

Spent a lovely weekend curled up on the sofa catching up on TV and reading. Just what I needed :)

I decided to go to Ffoods today on my way home. They have a deal on on diet meals - 3 for £3. I got one meal, some mashed potatoes with spring onion and some chips (I just couldn't resist ;)). I also got lots of frozen veg to fill me up. This week I'm going to get back to my diet and hopefully I'll weigh in a bit lighter at the weekend :D

    Good Morning MsDaisy :)

How organised are you???? The PPI payment is brilliant news and the massive payment to the cc is too :T I'm glad you can see the wee light. It must be very motivating.

I don't have fancy phone with apps and stuff so I use the weekly spend challenge on here, which really does keep me in check on my non-organised spends. Have a look if you get a minute.
Also I could not live without my budget spreadsheet. Mine is done right up until October for both my bank account and my debts. I can see when I finish paying my current target and it's very motivating too.

You sound as if you are well on top of everything though :j

    Have a great day x x

Hi freeby  its good to hear from you! I don't know why I'm so reluctant to use a spreadsheet/budget tool. Its like I've got a real mental block with it. I think I'm a bit afraid of seeing it all in black and white. I really don't want to go back to my old ways though so I'm trying to do a little bit at a time in the hope I'll get there eventually :)
