NSD today (yesterday!). Also, diet went well during the day. It all went a bit pear shaped in the evening as I polished off the last of the pretzels and wine. But now that there is none left I'll be able to diet in the evening too :j - lucky me :p

On a more positive note I registered for telephone banking today. At least this will save me the embarrassment of dealing with my finances with a neighbour and an ex pupil who both work as tellers in my local bank. :T

Ohh MsDaisy I hate with a passion going into my local bank and do as much as I can online. I went to school or worked with the people in there in the past and I hate that they know my financial difficulties. I can't even change banks because it's the same in the other couple that are in my town  That's the trouble with a small town, everybody knows everybody and usual all their business too

It looks like you are doing brilliantly with the money and the diet. I bet you are looking forward to making that first payment to the cc :)
After that....it will be all plain sailing :rotfl:

@freeby - plain sailing? lol :rotfl::rotfl: I wish! It is difficult when you know lots of people in a small town isn't it? I've seen me drive to another town just to transfer money between accounts! Never mind, I won't have to do this again :)

Not feeling so well tonight (bit of a migraine) so I'm taking it easy. In fact, I think I'll have an early night. I'm sure I'll be able to sleep it off.

Not an NSD today. 99p on a cup of tea. I had so many meetings today that I couldn't get back to base camp for lunch. I did, however, have my homemade lunch with me. I think I may have to invest in a small flask too. That would save me some pennies in the long run.

I needed milk from the supermarket so I called in on my way home. I picked up the supermarket own label milk then I noticed some cheaper stuff. The own label, semi skimmed milk was £1.18 for 2 litres. There were two other label semi skimmed milks, both cheaper at £1 and 89p respectively. I put the £1.18 milk back and walked off with the 89p stuff :D a saving of 29p or nearly 25%!!!

I also noticed bacon offcuts at the butcher's counter. Lovely looking bacon and only £2.39 per kilo. I bought some as I usually cut my bacon up anyway to add to pasta sauces. I thought this was a good saving too :). I also bought some pears so my total spend in MrMs was £2.51.

That makes a grand total of £3.50 for today.

Oh, nearly forgot! My son was going to take his change to the coinstar machine at the supermarket. You know the ones that charge about 9p in the pound to change your coins? With my new money saving ways I couldn't let him do it. I swapped him a £10 note for £10 of coins. These coins will go in my sealed pot. I'm also going to scour the house this weekend for lost coins, I'm confident I'll find some :D

Hope you've all had a good day

More spends today :( £25 for petrol - hopefully it will last until next Wednesday. 20p for air to keep tyres properly inflated. My DS ate my 'diet' noodles so I went to the supermarket to replace them. I was very good and only bought noodles - 2 packs as they were half price until Sunday and I don't think I'll do another shop before then :p.

So total spend for today is £26.68

Not much else to report really except that I've decided to set aside Saturday morning to explore the budget tool on here. If I've read it correctly there appears to be a spreadsheet with it. Strangely I'm looking forward to doing this ;)

    Hope you've had a good day :)

It seems ages since I last posted on here! I'm absolutely snowed under with work and finding it really difficult to get motivated to do money saving things at night/weekend. I meant to do a budget last weekend but was so pooped that I just couldn't. Not sure if this weekend is going to be any better :(

I have, however, managed to have several NSDs :D I've spent £5.12 in Mr Ts and £10.19 on a night out with friends last Friday so not too bad on the spends :T I'll have to get some fresh milk and other bits and pieces tomorrow or Thursday and I'll also need some petrol.

I'm meeting DS at the weekend and plan on buying him some new clothes for his birthday. I also have vouchers for a restaurant so I'll take him out for something to eat. It feels a bit weird planning a shopping trip! I'm not sure I like this 'spending money' lark :rotfl:

Other than that, I have stuck to my diet and lost another few pounds :D I'm really pleased that it seems to be coming off relatively easily (so far, anyway :p)

    Hope you're having a good week x

I've only had little bits to report this week so I thought I'd save them all up and do one bigger post this weekend :)

    I spent £30.47 in MrT's and £25.05 on petrol.

At long last I've finally taken steps to reduce my phone/internet/mobile bills. Since I have S** TV I've decided to take the phone and broadband through them. Not the cheapest I know, but still cheaper than what I'm paying just now and when the DS's are home it will be good to have unlimited downloads! I'll work out the final saving and post it later.

I'm out of contract on my mobile phone so my job for tomorrow is to get a better tariff :)

I used a cashback site to click through to S** and also used it to click through when I changed my utilities provider but neither of the cashback amounts are showing in my account, they are not even 'pending'. Does anyone know if this is normal?

I'll do my weigh in tomorrow too and post on the two stone, two grand board. I'll also add my savings from the phone/internet deal :)

I haven't done the shopping trip with DS yet this weekend so if it's not on tomorrow I think I'll try and list some things on E**y since it's a free listing weekend.

    Hope you're having a good weekend x

    Oooh, what a mixed week!

    NSDs Sunday, Monday, Tuesday :j

My mobile contract was finished so I decided to look for a new deal. I had no idea what kind of deals were out there. Really cheap contracts or pay what I've been paying and get a new phone and a free gift with it. I know I'm trying to pay off debts but I decided to go for a free gift :p I'm happy with the deal - 18 month contract, new phone, free laptop and I get to keep my own number. I reckon this is good coz my laptop is only just hanging in there, it's been dying for some time and I've managed to nurse it along but it can't go on for ever :) At the end of the day, I'm not paying any more a month than I am now so although I haven't saved anything, I'm not any worse off either.

I just got a fab deal on my home phone and broadband too. Phoned new company and got offered a deal, phoned my own provider who tried to better it (and it was a good deal) so I called the new company back to cancel my order and they offered an outstanding deal!!! 12 month contract, no line rental for 12 months, £5 a month for anytime calls and £3.25 a month for unlimited broadband. How crazy is that? £8.25 per month for phone and broadband :j:j
My original provider thinks I got a great deal and is more than happy to send out my MAC code :)

The deals out there just now are unbelievable.

I'll be putting petrol in the car tomorrow so that won't be an NSD but hey-ho, I don't think I can complain tonight :D

Hope you're all doing well x

    Hey MsDaisy :)

Well done on those fantastic deals. :T
It'll soon be time for me to renew my mobile phone but I am dreading looking.....I am happy with my network and would like to stay but I doubt they'll offer me any of the great deals that are out there at the moment. :(

Enjoy your new phone and your new laptop :j

@freeby - it's always worth asking. The man I spoke to at my current provider told me to always tell the company you are going to leave and they will offer you a better deal to stay. It's worth trying. Good luck :)

£272.26 council tax rebate this week :j:j I'm going to use it to pay off some of my storecard (16.9%)

£10 on petrol and £4 on coffee and cake (Thursday) , £9.27 on milk, wine and a few other bits and bobs (Friday). Saturday and Sunday NSDs :D

Got my wage this week and this is the first month of my mortgage payment holiday. I'm going to start paying back my 30% cc, can't wait. It's going to feel sooooo good making some significant payments. I'm so looking forward to getting this card cleared.

Hope you all have a good week x
