Can you clarify, is the problem here with HSBC or Lloyds? From what I read in the OP it appears HSBC are changing their system to comply with new regulations but Lloyds are not yet compliant, is my understanding correct?
Thats right, but the regs don't neeed to be in until Jan 1st. So it's just basically the next month until everything is OK.0 -

I'm not OP but my sort code for the payment (via HSBC pick list in bill payments ) is 000000
I'm now going to close this credit card down and find one that is compliant. I feel a bit out in the cold not being able to control my finances directly, and need to find a CC that gives me a good kickback but doesn't involve me having to go to the branch to pay it!0 -
Sorry, Account number is 00000000 sort code is 77-29-000

77 29 00
Faster Payments cannot be sent to this sort code.
Bacs Credit payments can be sent to this sort code.
Bacs Direct Debits can be set up on this sort code.
CHAPS Payments cannot be sent to this sort code.
Not eligible for Cheque & Credit Clearing.

I'm trying to urgently tranfer money from my hsbc account into dp's first direct account, normally goes through instantly but won't let me do it at all. I had no warning from HSBC that this was going to happen, dd due out of dp's account on the 10th which is tommorow, really don't fancy battling crowds to get to the stupidly understaffed branch of hsbc in town, would they even be able to accept a payment into a first direct account? What a pain!0

FD is part of HSBC.
Payments between them are an internal transfer cannot think of a reason why an online transfer will not work.
Yes you can pay into FD accounts at HSBC branches so no problem if you want to do that.0 -
Managed to send my payment today. HSBC must be sending by BACS if faster payments are not accepted or Lloyds are accepting them! Either way, I can relax (well I'll relax when my credit card shows the payment!)
"Your payment has been sent and will usually be credited to the beneficiary's account within 2 hours, subject to our normal fraud checks. (H48) "0 -

Given your quote above, I'd say they've switched FP on for that sort code now.
They probably read this thread:D
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Just checked the sort code checker and....

Thats changed since Friday! thankfully - obviously the threat of losing my business of about £1,500 a month spending is too high a risk for them to take! ha ha!0
