The problem is I work in a small company and taking further days off will only delay my project deadlinesThumbRemote wrote: »Many companies let you reschedule holiday days if you were sick on the time booked off. Worth asking if yours will?[STRIKE]Deposit: 25000!!/15000[/STRIKE] Homeowner :j

so you noticed the mouldy bread but still chose to eat it?
I would have thought £10,000 would cover it.0 -
If the hospital didn't get very excited about (ie not a public health issue) then I doubt you can do very much about it.
What tests did the hospital do? Do you have a report from the hospital?
I can tell you if was genuinely ill I would have ensured I had enough information for at least any cancelled holiday insurance claim!0 -
What compensation do you think you are entitled to? Do you actually have any financial loss? Everyone gets sick from time to time, unless you can prove causality (and if you haven't by now you have missed the boat) then there is no blame to be apportioned.
It should teach you to look at what you are eating before you put things in your mouth. If it was black and green surely you'd have noticed before eating half?
If you have real concerns about the restaurant report them to EH who will investigate for you and punish the outlet appropriately.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

We use to feed mouldy bread to the horses and I have been known as a child to eat the odd bit and it never did me any harm..but then I have cast iron guts, maybe it was all that mouldy bread..lolThere is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

How on earth can you prove that you didnt pick up this bug from some other source? Maybe an unclean table chair door handle or such like and then the inevitable putting your hand/fingers in your mouth eye nose bottom or such like to pass this bug on.
I was ill last 2 days and theres no way I couldve caught it from cooking my own food as the missus ate the same food so it was either that or my hands have picked it up from somewhere or food i ate previously that day. too many variables and mouldy bread isnt one of them im afraid"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
Hi,
Before few days I went to one of the popular fast-food restaurants and ate an item which was stale. I had already eaten half of it before i noticed the fungi and the weird taste. Got a refund and the restaurant accepted their fault. I had a bad stomach and pain for few days and had to visit hospital but now everything is okay.
I had holidays booked during those few days so didn't had to call sick at office. But had to stay at home ruining my holiday plans. Where do I stand ? Can I ask for compensation?
Where do you stand, well you stand on your own 2 feet for starters, re the compensation you ate the food so must have been ok to eat. You say " The bread was all green/black fungi on the sides with an odd taste " but why continue to eat it or even why even touch it if it looked like that, you should have mentioned it before you ate it. As to whether the item made you ill is debateable as its already been pointed out the illness could be caused by anything.0
