Can anyone advise on this please???

My son has a Virgin sim (the Telewest 300min/300text @£10 deal) and needs a mobile for it to go into.

What kind of mobile does he need? Any unlocked phone? Or does it have to be a particular kind/network?

I have a 3 contract phone 500/100 deal - Nokia 6630. The phone is cracked and I probably need a new one. When I asked 3 about it they told me I would have to buy a new one from them, as no other would work with this sim. Is this true? Or do I need an unlocked phone too??

Can anyone advise on these please??

Cheers

Your son will need either an unlocked phone or one that is locked to T-Mobile or Virgin. You need a 3G handset but not necessarily bought from 3. You could perhaps get a cheap 3 PAYG phone but make sure that it hasn't got it's SIM glued into it.

So a phone that is 'locked' to a network - ie virgin - will accept any sim from that network?

And in my case it has to be a 3G handset??
