hi, am after some advice re the quick sale of a house please. Has anyone got any experience of or advice regarding quick sale companies such as national homebuyers etc? Are they reliable? A family member inherited a house last year and the sale has just fallen through. they are not after making a huge profit but just want shot of the house because it is currently sat empty and a quick sale would be ideal. Any advice greatly appreciated

Reduce the price 25%. Make it cash buyers only.0

the price is already greatly reduced from the valuation (sorry should have pointed that out before, am new to this forum
) and the house is in a crap location in tne middle of nowhere needing a bit of renovation (but would be ready to move into with minimum work).

Avoid the buy it cheap companies, they have a habit of dropping the price at the last minute.
Drop the price yourself, find out what similar houses are up for sale for and knock off 10-15% from the lowest priced similar house. Make sure the Agent knows you want a quick sale, offer the agent a bonus for getting the quick sale - say an extra £1000 (put a restriction on this deal for a minimum price).0 -

Reduce price drastically or try auction. Not advisable to use the quick sale companies. As said, they will probably drop the price again at the last knockings - after giving a rubbish valuation in the first place.

(the house itself is lovely, i'd be tempted if i didn't need to live in the city
)

I agree - avoid those companies like the plague!
When we were looking to relocate earlier this year due to family commitments, we told the EA we wanted our house priced for a quick sale and for them to send round proceedable buyers only. Within two weeks of going on the market we accepted an offer and within less than three months of originally marketing our house we had sold, purchased and were in our new home!
Another option would possibly be auctioning the property........Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

This one?
How long has it been at the new price?
Are you getting any interest at all from possible buyers?
Is there anything for sale nearby, or any recent sales you can compare the price with.
If you are getting no interest then all you can do is either wait or drop the price some more.0 -
Is it not on rightmove? Would have thought getting it on there would be priority, especially if it's in the middle of nowhere so people aren't likely to stumble on it or see the board.
