Talktalk - cost of 0845 and 0870 calls?

Can anyone please tell me where to find out the tariff for 0845 and 0870 calls?
My package is an old one Talk3 which includes 01 numbers but not non-geographic ones. I can't find them listed on their pricing guide. I have emailed talktalk twice but they just keep referring me to the pricing guide even though I've told them I can't see the answer there. I have phoned them and was told it was the same as the Essentials price rate and no connection charge but I am definitely charged more than that.
If you know the rate, where did you find it please for future reference?

Can't you move to Essentials package, where evening and weekend calls are FREE to 0845 & 0870, Or get TalkTalk Plus where these numbers are free all day long.

At the moment I get all calls included except non-geographic ones which is better than the Essentials package and Talktalk Plus is more expensive.
  • Hi I think I've found the talktalk page you want here https://sales.talktalk.co.uk/pricing/package/other-plans

Thanks but this link takes me to the page where I originally hoped to find the price and where talktalk keep directing me. Perhaps its just me but I cannot find 0845 or 0870 numbers mentioned when I click on the non-geographic numbers tab. I've looked on both the pages but the numeric one jumps from 084999 to08710.

    Hi Lucky,

If you are on Essentials or Plus then 0870 and 0845 are included in your tariff, for essentials these are inclusive evening and weekend, for plus they are inclusive anytime in line with the tariff.

For this reason they appear on the Pricing Page in the tariff details as inclusive numbers.

Hi Mark Yes the rate is straightforward to find if on Essentials or Plus but as stated in my first post I am on a discontinued package called Talk 3 which does not include 0845 or 0870 numbers, hence trying to find out where the rate can be found. Any idea?
  • Does anyone know whether it's possible for us hard-pressed members of the public to set up our own premium rate numbers to get our own back on all the companies who charge us to call them?

Yes. I have an 0701 number diverting to my VoIP number for that very purpose.

    I used http://www.flextel.com/

Costs me nothing. Costs callers 48.51p/minute from a BT line (more from some other providers).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
