Small Change

All change under £1 goes in Peefer the Mortgage Pig and gets paid off my mortgage. Every 1p saves about 2p in interest :j.
I had a BTL a few years ago & had to get tenant evicted for not paying his rent. When I got the property back he had left loads of copper coins everywhere, including all over the garden. Obviously he was so well off (what with no rent to pay.....) he didn't need them. I still remember going round saying 'that;s £1653.28 you owe me, £1653.27 you owe me, £1653.25 you owe me
.
I was shortchanged by a 3p a few weeks ago & the shop assistant was appalled I asked for it back. I was appalled at her mental arithmetic
. There was a 1p coin on the till, I was dying to say 'you won't mind if I take that then' but I didn't :rotfl:. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Mortgage Balance = £0

I don't know where to start with this one!you will really upset the cashier if you refuse your change! Ive done this job too - and you would think the store would be pleased if your till was 'over'. They arent! they watch you even more closely as they are then convinced you are somehow diddling them and too thick to do it properly!
It's not that they're thick, it's the fact that the tills will be wrong. Imagine if every customer in one day expected their 1p to stay in the till - then every customer for a year - you try being the boss and explaining to the tax man why the figures don't match.
The money wouldn't even stay in the till - it WOULD go in the charity box because above all else, THE TILLS HAVE TO BALANCE AT THE END OF THE DAY.0 -

EXACTLY! and if they dont balance - the bosses prefer it to be under rather than over! a till which is 'over' is often because the employee is on the fiddle and either didnt keep track of how much they shortchanged the customer(s), or because they forgot or didnt have chance to remove and hide the cash!
a till which is just pennies under they dont seem to worry about so much! its usually put down to a genuine mistake by staff!0 -
I always save my pennies! At the end of every day I put my 1's, 2's and 5's in a money box and cash them in every few months.0

I don't pick up pennies but I was disproportionately excited the other day when I found an actual pound coin on the floor. Only a little bit muddy too!0

i dont have a coin part in my wallet so all change i get comes home and goes into the sealed pot! Doesnt matter how small the amount it still belongs to me. Why would i want to give extra money to a company unless they provide an excellent service i am willing to tip!?
I hate it when they stall in handing your small change over in a desperate bid to have you get fed up and say 'keep the change'. I'll happilly stand there and wait for itMFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0
