3 Mobile

Hope someone can help me here. My son who lives 300 miles away from who has learning difficulties has contacted me for help. He has recently gone into a 3 Mobile shop to get Internet conection via a 3 Mobile dongle. At first he could not get conected as his PC is quite old and would not recognise the dongle. He went back to the shop and was told that he would be better off having the £15 per month set up as appose to the £7 per month. This was absolute rubbish as all he needed was a PC upgrade wich he now has. Anyway his problem is now that it appears to have two contracts and is paying for both the £15 per month and the £7 per month. To make matters worse the signal is weak and he constantly looses connection.
As he only entered the contract/s two months ago is he able to pull out. I am saying this as he will have inserficient funds in he bank due to being on disabilty allowence. I know this is a bit of a longshot as I will have to get more details from him, but I just wondered if the was anything I can do now.

Regards
Sacko

  • It is a great pity that he didn't test the service by getting a dongle with a prepaid allowance before committing to a contract, also that he took out contracts without getting advice first. It seems that he has been taken advantage of.

I use Three Mobile BB myself but have never had a contract so hope that someone with better knowledge will help.

As for the signal, is he using the PC upstairs near a window and putting the dongle on a long lead?
Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

  • Thanks Plutoin, he sure was taken advantage of. However it seems thats the norm nowadays "Get um in,sign up and forget them".
As for the signal he is on the second floor of a block of flats with the PC next to the window, not on a lead however just plugged straight into the USB port.
