Any 'smartphone' with bluetooth should work. The latest version of TomTom, Navigator 6, only works with the more powerful versions, but version 5 will work with the majority of smartphones. See http://www.tomtom.com/phones/ for more advice on your specific phone.
(From the website, the following phones work with TomTom on a memory card and a bluetooth GPS device).

Many thanks
That's quite a detailed list0 -
I cheated though and pasted it in, don't worry didn't type it!
What phone was you thinking of using this with?0 -
Well, I was planning to buy a phone so not sure as yet. But now i can go through the list and buy a good phone. Do you know what else do we need to be able to connect to the satellite for navigation and where can it be bought for a reasonable price. Thanks0

great, another thread on sat nav
thanks city slicker for all your help0 -
I'd go for a Nokia phone because they're so reliable, when you go to the shops/search online the only two questions you need to ask is 'does it have bluetooth' and 'is it a Symbian (smartphone)'. That's the phone taken care of, although if you buy E61, E70, N73, N80 models, they're powerful enough to run the latest Navigator 6 software.
Other than the phone, and the software, you just need a bluetooth GPS receiver. Ebay this, I've noticed Holox is a popular brand but they're all pretty much the same - some have fancy features like being solar charged or have a car charger included too. That will sort you out - sat nav on the cheap.0 -
there's the t-mobile MDA compact lll with built in gpsthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

Just found a review of that phone banger -

It looks like a well featured phone, but an average smartphone will do all this phone can do only without the GPS. Check the contract prices out though - to get this phone free you're looking at a £35 monthly line rental for 18 months, or £20 per month and pay around £170 for the phone, still 18 months contract. I'd rather have a phone without GPS - if I upgraded the phone in the future I'd still have a seperate GPS receiver that I could use with the upgraded phone.0 -
I'm waiting for the Nokia N95 built-in GPS and a 5MP camera:

Probably won't be cheap, but I usually keep phones for 2 to 3 years.
