Have a camera pointing at the pin machine. Til operator creates a new card using the card number etc. from the receipt. Uses the card elsewhere using the PIN number thats been caught from the camera.
(which is why you should cover it!)
From what I've gathered......
This only works only if the machine they are putting the cloned card in works on a swipe of the magnetic strip & pin and does not use the chip.
As I understand it the scammers can't yet duplicate/clone the chip.
(Modern till receipts don't usually print the full card number also so they'd need to get the card number by other methods)0 -
Where my dad works, their card machine prints out the full card details onto the receipt (But not the one given the the customer), so it would only need someone to have a quick glance at the back and you've got all the details you need!ChiefGrasscutter wrote: »From what I've gathered......

Yep when I used to work at Domino's the merchant machines would first print out all the displayed information (to keep for records) and then the starred out information (to give to customer).ChiefGrasscutter wrote: »From what I've gathered......

My card got cloned at a local petrol station using that method (story in the local paper) by using chip and pin machine then camera looking over my shoulder. Couldn't work out how they got my PIN at first!0
