Why is Martin silent on NHS fully funded continuing care & saving sick peoples homes?

Given all the other financial topics Martin has helped bring into the limelight, and helped people to save money with, reclaim money from and avoid spending it in the first place, why does Martin remain resolutely silent when it comes to helping sick people keep their assets and their homes?
I'm talking about sick people who require 24/7 care - yet have to pay for that care when the law (under Coughlan) says the NHS should pay.
There are many topics now in the Disability and Dosh and the Over 50s forums on precisley this important topic.
This is not about avoiding care home fees. This is not about just the elderly. It is about ensuring SICK people, who have already paid for their NHS through their lifetime of taxation and NI, are not forced to pay for the medical care that the NHS, by law, should be funding.
Martin - there can be no bigger money saving challenge than saving the assets and the home of of a sick person.
It could be you or one of your loved ones next week. THis does not just affect the elderly.
So why are you so silent on this important issue just leaving it to forum contributors to advise where they can?
With your media contacts, how better to get the message across to sick people and their families who, 9 times out of 10 have to battle great financial injustice alone?
And how better to get this into the public arena - AGAIN - and keep it there - than for Martin to put some support behind it?

Any comment yet Martin?
As a money saving expert - with plenty of advice and help for all other sectors of society - how about taking this up?0 -
From the weekly email -
What is MoneySavingExpert.com?Founded in February 2003, it's now the UK's biggest consumer help website with over 6 million people getting this email and nearly 10m using the site. Its focus is simple: how to save cash and fight for financial justice on anything and everything. The site has over 30 full time staff about half of whom are editorial researching, analysing and writing to continually find ways to save money.
Except this tough subject maybe?0 -
You seem to be very confrontational towards Martin Lewis. You do know that he is a freelance journalist who can comment or not comment on whatever he wishes, and not as you appear to perceive him a public servant of some sort who is honour-bound to take up whatever cause you see fit.
I'd imagine that others realise this given than you have thus far been the only one posting in this thread, stamping your feet and posting bits of the MSE charter that you feel support your cause.
Martin can pick and chose what he wishes to comment on, just like you or I can. Simple really.Come on, it's not rocket surgery is it?0 -
I do of course realise that Martin can respond to any causes suggested. Given that he has acheived lots for many people in reclaiming money, saving money and generally helping people to do well in regards to finance, I find it incredible that this topic is ignored by him.
There can be no bigger moneysaving challenge than to save the home of a sick person.
If that's confrontational then so be it. Martin is a self proclaimed moneysaving expert who's email carries the phrase in my post above.
As a finacial journalist, this topic is as important as any other financial topic where people lose a lot of money and/or their home.
I make no apology for highlighting this scandal.0 -

Have you tried a polite email to Martin rather than just shouting on here0 -
Yes surely if you feel there is something Martin might want to consider looking at, the best way would be to contact Martin and ask him. Not this accusatory talk of "How dare he not be doing something about this!" which is how you are coming across here.0

Thanks MSE Andrea. This is the only response I have had about how to progress this.
For those that said about emailing Martin, I already did and silence was the reply.
I will take up Andrea's suggestion.0 -
