Is this a reasonable bill?

in Water bills
Hi
Extremely basic question - never had to pay water bills previously as rented and this was all included. Now we've bought our own place and had a strange bill:
We initially had a bill for slightly less than one month use, saying we'd used 81 cubic metres of water. For just the two of us in a small flat this seemed excessive!
We questioned them, and they randomly took two readings over one week, then extrapolated our actual usage. They've now sent us a more reasonable bill for for thirty cubic metres of water over three months. This seems a lot better - but still a lot of water surely --- isn't that 30 tonnes of water? They're charging us £61.
Is this pretty standard or should we be suspicious of a problem?

Average for 2 people is 120 cu mtrs per year; so 30 for 3 months is correct.
Size of property is unimportant.
Ensure you are not being charged incorrectly for surface water drainage - see another thread.0 -
I use someting around 112 m3 a year and pay £13 a month for water and £16 for sewerage. That makes in all £78 a qtr. So if the bill covers both you are not doing too badly.0

Yes - the revised figure is about on par for 2 people (the original suggested you were permanently under the shower!)
A cubic metre .. is approx 220 gallons. Sounds a lot to be using when you work out that is 110 watering cans full? But circa 10 cu mtrs / month for 2 people is about rightIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
