I've just had a call from Lifestyle Money, telling me I've got a good claim for compo from A, TSB for PPI saying it was included in the iterest rate, even tho' I always pay in full at the end of the month & never paid interest. & B, From the Woolwich for PPi charged when I took out a mortgage in1996. All sounded good until she wanted £359 upfront "Refundable " deposit. HELP! I'm just a thick Truck Driver. Are they genuine? Is it a good idea?

No, its a bad idea. And a very bad way of throwing away £359.
If you have paid PPI on any debts and feel like you may have a claim for misselling its very easy to do this yourself following the information and guides on this forum - Reclaim PPI & Other InsuranceA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

They are clearly telling you lies. So, whether you think that is genuine or good is up to you.
There is something called advance fee fraud. It is where someone entices you with some big pay off but to get it you have to pay something up front (watch Hustle and you see this in each episode). It is not uncommon for claims companies to entice you with hypothetical amounts that sound mouthwatering to many but then hit you with an up front fee. Some may well consider that advance fee fraud.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
