Boiler Servicing Advice

...But fact is there are many more parts to a modern day boiler, they are full of electonics and sensors ...

...They also tell me as long as a old back boiler is serviced correctly, there is just less far less to fail on them...
Both statements are true, but also incomplete.
The electronics provide ( much) more efficiency, and also very important safety. My main dislike of BBU's is not the fact that they are wasteful, but that any of a number or reasons can cause production of carbon monoxide that spills into the room and is likely to kill you.
This is impossible with the modern boilers if they are installed correctly. Personally, I'd rather have my boiler stop working when things go wrong, than keep on going whilst spewing CO into my lounge.

Apart from that, a sensor going wrong can simply be replaced, and is by no means the reason that the boiler comes to the end of it's useful life.

Largely depends on local cost of living/property prices, but £70 is not expensive for a full, proper stripdown service anywhere in the country.

Well, I do a complete strip down and service for that

You need to put your prices up..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

No wonder I'm flat out and nearly having a breakdown over how I can fit everyone in!

Round here I am thought of as really expensive!

Lower your rate to a tenner, and your customers will still tell you it's a lot of money.;)
