Had either of you had a flu jab?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Aww, Nikki, sounds awful! Agree with White_Sapphire though, you should concentrate on getting better, and then think about your weight afterwards.0

Oh how gruesome, you poor love. Your husband sounds like an absolute gem! What a star.
Make sure you take plenty of time to recuperate - there's nothing worse than forcing yourself back to normality before you're ready, only to make yourself ill again. Sounds like the family are doing a fine job coping.
Get well soon *hugs*0 -
Aw poor you! Don't worry about the weight gain right now, keep your strength up!
If it makes you feel any better, at least this didn't happen BEFORE the wedding... and sounds like your new husband is a keeper!

Aww hope you're feeling better soon. I'm also asthmatic and can appreciate how rubbish you've been feeling. Taking steroids always causes me to gain weight also, but the weight comes off naturally over the few weeks/months after taking them. xxx0

So sorry to hear this hun, I saw your post in Nov brides but didn't have energy to reply. Big hugs to you. I can truly sympathise. I too have been plagued with illness. Been in and out of hospital and doctors with abdominal pains and bowel problems with no answers so far. We are supposed to be trying for a baby so it's come at a really sucky time.
Timing eh?0 -
Awww hugs to you how awful for you to have gone through all this since the wedding.hope your feeling back to yourself soon0

Aw Thanks everybody for the hugs and well wishes - it really does help when you think that people care - even when it is people that you don't "know". Isn't it funny how sharing a connection can create friends from all over!
I think some of you care more than my friends who are all too busy to visit or text or email
Even on my birthday
not this year - i usually do but with the wedding and everything, never got the timeHad either of you had a flu jab?
Wanchai - that is the ONE thing that has kept me going! At least the wedding day was perfect, and my health was good all day! phew....If it makes you feel any better, at least this didn't happen BEFORE the wedding... and sounds like your new husband is a keeper!
Thanks No Angel - 7 years with asthma, and never has it been this bad (but never have i had whooping cough before! lol) At least the asthma has settled down now, because that was what was life threatening the twice i was admitted.....Aww hope you're feeling better soon. I'm also asthmatic and can appreciate how rubbish you've been feeling. Sorry to hear this enchantica - How terrible.... At least I know what mine is, and have a sort of timescale - I truly hope that you are feeling better soon, and that they have some answers for you! The good news must be that they have ruled out the truly serious things? So sorry to hear this hun, I saw your post in Nov brides but didn't have energy to reply. Big hugs to you. Big hugs right back at you, along with wishes and prayers for you to have a really good xmas, and i hope that your husband is looking after you as well as mine is xxxx

You have had a rotten time OP.
Whooping cough (on top of asthma:eek:)is a really serious illness, so you need to allow yourself to get properly better. Christmas cards really don't matter unless it is something you love to do.
Perhaps it will help to think of your life as a span of 85 years - another 2/4 weeks is nothing in the span of that time.
It is not pathetic. You are not being pathetic: resting properly and not rushing back to work or anything too soon will allow you to fully recover, so the next year isn't written off (been there done that).
You don't want to be too exhausted on your 1st anniversay to go out because you were afraid of appearing pathetic now so forced yourself back on your feet too soon: 2 - 4 weeks allowing your body to heal will seem like nothing then. Thus speaks the painful voice of experience i assure you.:o:D
You obviously have fantastic taste in husbands! Well done you:DI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Thank You - It does help to look at it like that - I'm aiming to be back to normal for his Birthday (February) so that I can thank him for my birthday (monday gone) and xmas (because he's going to be in charge of xmas too) by spoiling him - so yes, thank you - I can concentrate on resting now to be well for February! xx
