What are Atlantic up to?

I am with Atlantic gas and electric. I was £114.77 in credit for my gas, the reason I say was in credit is because they have put the full amount of credit back in my bank account. I am due to finish my present guaranteed price agreement with Atlantic on Feb 16th.The amount I was in credit was to see me through the winter, I can't see me managing on the amount I pay per month. Unless.

They have found out it's going to be extremely mild. Or.
They have said to themselves go on have a winter on us. Mmm.
Don't think so. So anyone got any idea what they are up to.

Maybe you are due the annual £100 discount so would be £214 in credit. Or maybe the £114 included the discount and they HAVE to remit.

Atlantic pay the "13th month" discount back to the customer's bank account regardless of account balance, weather or consumption predictions.

The 13th month starts February 16th so it's not that. The amount £114.77 is the full amount I had in credit. So at the start of winter I have not got one penny extra for the extra amount I am bound to use. it seems crazy to me to do this I have only just spotted it this afternoon when I visited my bank account, tomorrow I will contact them to ask why.

Gas4you what do this mean? Some company's just cant win. Damned if they do, damned if they don't!

Probably some stupid computer that has issued a refunf, rather than an actual person reviewing you account and issuing a refund.

Don't spend it then and keep it for the big bill in Feb.
  • I phoned Atlantic and the answer I had was, sometimes the computer issues a rebate right under Atlantic's nose. So they took it back while I was on the phone. Dew, computers they have a mind of their own.

At your annual review with any sse brand they will refund any credit on the account back into your bank account. It is the only time they do automatically refund . I agree with gas4u, they can't win either way and can't please everyone

Are you saying I am hard to please.

My annual review is not until February 2012. and according to them the computer just randomly put all my credit that I need for the winter back in my account. Today I had to phone at a cost of money and time to ask them what they are up to. Some people don't really read what they are looking at, glib comments are of no use to no one.

Why let Atlantic keep YOUR money ? You might as well have it back, stick it in a savings account for when it's needed. Can't see what you're upset about really, you'd be moaning if you needed it and they refused saying "we'll keep it because you'll need it in the winter" !
