Advice needed please- internet options

Hi All,

I really hope someone can help me, I'm not sure what my options are regarding having broadband installed..

I am in a rented flat where although there is a BT line, it is not connected. What is the cheapest way to get the internet (am still trying to be money-saving)? I am not in a ntl area (Worcester) and don't know if there are any other options where I don't have to pay a BT charge as well as the internet charge? My landlord is happy for me to have the internet/phone line re-installed although preferrably I would like a internet contract that isn't a twelve month one.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated as I don't really know where to start!

Many Many thanks in advance

Lucy

if you reconnect the BT line, there's a minumum 12-months contract anyway. so you might as well have ADSL for 12-months.
  • ADSL?

I knew there was a 12month bt contract but didn't know if (like ntl) there was another company through which I could get the internet without having to have the BT line connected.

Any help on the best kind of internet packages around (I'm a total novice to that, no idea) would be much appreciated durain?

    thanks

Well NTL are the only company who dont require a line to install broadband. But as you're not in an NTL area the only option you have is an ADSL service.

Most providers for adsl broadband require you to have a BT telephone line so they can deliver the service to you.

In my experience the best packages arent always the cheapest! Theres plenty of reviews on this forum for who to avoid & who not to avoid, so make sure you do your homework!! :)
