Hi hypno,
I wondered if you were still running these days? Especially after the marathon last year and all the work you did. Hearing about this year's marathon reminded me of last year when you ran so thought I'd pop on see how you were. Glad you sound nice and happy to.
I'm still running - pop onto the MSE marathon running thread and swing by to say hi as its pretty quiet these days. Also thinking about entering the ballot for next year. Think I'll give it a go and see what happens. Who knows!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
I fully anticipate doing another marathon in the not too distant future, and will be entering in the ballot again. In fact DD, who is 18 in a few weeks, has challenged me to run London with her, so the aim is to both get in one year.......watch this space!!
I am doing lots of work in the gym, I love spinning, and do a couple of classes of that a week plus my normal gym sessions. I should be half the size that I am, with lean lithe thighs.....but all it does is allow me to eat cake and chocolate guilt free and maintain the status quo. That'll do me. It's all about balance!!

Ooh, Hypno, I've realised I can't run a marathon due to dodgy knees, so I'm going to power walk one...it's all about making the best of it you can.
Well done on balancing chocolate cake and spinning. The day you can spin chocolate cakes, I'll join you! Please call me 'Pickle'

Ahh, spinning Chocolate cakes - that's one for me to aim for!!
Luc, I considered the moonwalk, there are several half marathon versions that go on around the country for those that don't want to tackle the full 26.2 miles as well.
Payday today, and not a moment too soon. April will be a tight month.....but hey, I can cope with those!
Hoping that from May things will ease up a little, but I don't hold my breath!!

Oh don't get me wrong, my version of "skint" nowadays is rather different to that of years gone by, and if things really did go belly up again, I could cut out things like the gym, football, and hair/nails/waxing appts without too much problem.
It is one of the reasons I don't post here often now - priorities have changed and I am sure that there are many out there who would read this, perhaps not necessarily knowing the background, who think "its alright for her....."
And yes, almost 18, working full time, buzzing around in her little car, setting up named "pots" on her online banking to make sure she doesn't fall into the same traps as the rest of us.....and smiling all the way - it is a joy to see!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I am in the bizarre situation where my 2 are nearly older than my self-perceived age.

Not so bizarre - I am having more fun now than I did when I was a teenager.....:D:rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
