Thanks K-N
....as I said, there was a lot of thinking done beforehand, a great deal of attachment to various emotions to be dealt with, and an acceptance of being at a certain point in my life and looking ahead.
Although an emotional purchase, it is a very positive one. It is difficult to describe as I don't want to go into specifics on here, but I certainly don't feel guilty about it as I would have done with other purchases, or at other times of my life.
It is right for me to do this now, and I look forward to enjoying it, and everything positive that it represents for a very long time to come.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. You are right not to feel guilty over your purchase as you made an informed choice and will be money well spent and I'm sure you'll get loads of enjoyment out of it.I'm definitely with you on the need to get organised front I definitely need to do that0

Well done on treating yourself in a calm and rational way. If it had been an impulse buy, then you may well have felt guilty about it, but you've thought it through, and whatever the reasons they are the right ones for you, now.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I agree.....if the watch is an investment in you, your new life and what it represents, then as long as you have it worked out regarding budgets I see no reason for you to feel guilty. The trick is analysing the decision and making the purchase for all of the right reasons. As Duncan Bannatyne says there are assets and there are liabilities, if the watch is an asset (ie will gain in value) fab, if it is a liability then you just need to adjust spending elsewhere and if you are not going skiing this year then you have already done that IF the watch is a liability but I suspect if it was "silly" sums (your words not mine) then it is likely to be an accumulating asset.
