Morning all - had a lovely evening last night. Our burlesque course has finished (another will start in January) so no formal class last night. Instead we all paid £1 and rented the basement of one of the city pubs, put our music on, dressed up a bit, made use of the bar, and just did our own thing - was really nice to do. I dragged a couple of girlfriends along who I think were somewhat surprised to see a slightly more bubbly me, and who thoroughly enjoyed it.
Time flew, I was driving so a low cost evening, lots of laughs and just generally a really nice way to spend an otherwise dreary Monday eveningSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Lol, we were downstairs in a basement, so not much chance of being clocked by the regulars or passers by!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

sounds like a grand night out to me! very inspiring! :j
glad you enjoyed your work do too (despite the hangover!) and glad the footie was good for you0 -
Thanks LHG - really, things are alright - certainly when I compare the way I felt a few months back to the way I feel now. There are more complex elements to my life still - probably always will be, but right now I am dealing with them in a pretty "healthy" way I think and that is good enough for me at this point!
A quiet evening for me tonight I think - got to play taxi driver for DD later, but otherwise think I might start wrapping the presents and doing a few cards......nothing more energetic than that awaits once I get home!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Ooh, am starting to struggle with this week - roll on the weekend!! Nothing bad happening, just tired. I guess many of us feel this way as we try and pack all the Christmas stuff in as well as normal hecticness, so I am not complaining, but oh to be back under my duvet for another couple of hours!!
I was due out last night but that fell through, which is probably just as well, because I struggled to stay awake on the sofa....had an early night and slept like a log so all good there.
Tonight I am out on another Christmas party - this time as a guest of my ex-employers which is a nice gesture....but it is a school night and I need to pace myself somewhat if I am to get through a day at work tomorrow - those guys do rather have a "go hard, or go home" attitude!!
One of the reasons I am tired, I think, is that the people on the floor I have moved to in the office do not drink tea or coffee and so I am not drinking so much of the stuff, and therefore having a bit of a detox! Yesterday, my beloved NCFC mug stayed in the cupboard all day :eek: while I had a large bottle of water to accompany me instead :eek: what's that all about then :rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously, though, it won't do me any harm to drink less coffee during the day, so I am going to try and run with it for a while. I'm sure I will soon get used to it!
In MSE news, I got my mortgage statement yesterday, which shows a decrease in the capital amount owing of about £6000. I am happy with that at this stage and it marks the end of a very successful year, all in, I think.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. It still leaves me with £161k to pay, though beanie - a long long way to go yet!!!
Have started giving finances some more serious thoughts this morning....part of the whole "I've survived another year" thing....not sure yet which way it will head, but what is clear is that things are very tight, and are not going to get any less tight over the next 12 months, which is the same for everyone.
I need to ensure that every spending decision is one taken carefully and for the right reasons. That is something that has slipped a little over the last year, and I simply cannot afford to let it slip further. Good habits need to be re-activated, without compromising my new life any more than necessary.

I'm currently having a rethink about our budget after moving to a new job that requires travel & decent clothing - so the salary increase seems to be spending itself!
Any pearls of wisdom from Hypnoland would be well appreciated!

Right now though, I think I had better do some work, otherwise I will earn no salary on which to ponder!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
