Suicide is so tragic. The ultimate selfishness, and I do have sympathy and understanding for people who are so desperate that they do this. Incidentally, I'm probably fairly hard about these public suicides as my father used to wake us up when we children to tell us that he was going to go out in the car and end it all. After several hours he would return. Eventually, he raised the anti and said he would be taking the dog. 'Please don't take the dog' my brother and I begged.

Eventually he died when I was 18. I feel terribly sorry for the families of suicides, and of course the poor demented person who is in such desperate circumstances. But they also make me cross.
