Tesco Mobile Pay Monthly

Anyone here have any experiences of Tesco Mobile? I'm looking to get a PAC from O2 and move, but I'd like to make sure their service is good and I don't want to risk losing my number. They are significantly cheaper than any other network it would seem (including Three).
Any advice/opinions appreciated!

Been with them for years and had no problems at all0

been using them over a year now find them great and very cheap, also tesco uses the o2 network so were ever you got your o2 signal you will get one with tesco.0

Generally good and helpful service.
The only slight issue I had was on roaming. Whilst allowing roaming, they put an automatic stop on your account when your roaming bill hits 3 times your monthly rental charge. Bit of a pain when you are far away and have to phone Tesco mobile to make a payment.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've been with Tesco for a couple of years on a payg contract and up till recently had no problems with them. I've been trying to switch over to a pay monthly Blackberry contract since the start of November. Over 6 hours on the phone to customer care (mostly on hold) and at least 2 payments taken so far, my contract started a couple of weeks ago and still no phone in sight. It never even got to the couriers, but I've been told that I can't get refund or replacement until their investigation has concluded and they found the lost one! Their inventory/warehouse problems are not my problem so why they couldn't get things moving as soon as it was clear it had never been sent out, I don't know. Then I was told to phone back every couple of days or it wouldn't be progressed. Not a happy bunny.0

My Tesco mobile phone has had an imei bar put on it. I didn't ask for it and Tesco say they didn't put it on. Customer services have been extremely unhelpful and I'm left with a useless phone. The phone was bought from Tesco, and is locked to the Tesco network, so who else could have barred it.0

Never had a problem with their PAYG, been with them since they started! My son has a capped @ £12.50 per month rolling contract for his iPhone with no issues at all. Plus the O2 signal is superb where I live."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

Glad to hear it. Retentions at O2 have offered me a £27 a month 300mins, unlimited texts and 500MB data deal with a free Samsung Galaxy S2 which sounds good, but with Tesco it's 750mins, 5000 texts, 500MB internet and £50 Samsung Galaxy S2 handset for £25 a month and £8 for insurance on top (tenner with O2) so it looks like a steal.
I've had my number for 10 years so I was just keen to make sure they don't fluff the porting up - is it risky? Is changing networks usually trouble-free? I know how to do it, but just have no experience...0 -
i have had my number longer than you and the only network i have not used is vodafone
been with tesco about 4 years PAYG first and now contract for about 2 years porting number usually takes 24-48 hours now a days used to take a lot longerHonesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
