Royal Mail FRAUD from ebay User

Hey there guys, i'm new to the forum, i've actually browsed forum entries before and they've been a great help but decided to sign up as i have a particular issue to raise.
I sold an item on ebay about a month ago, its was a PS3 Controller, buyer paid, great, i sent 1st class recorded as i was suspicious of this buyers feedback, lots of "royal mails fault", "lost in post but refunded" feedback etc..
point being as i predicted this guy claimed to not have received the item, i looked at the tracking number and the item still said is due for delivery after a month had passed.
Now i sent off a lost post form to royal mail and they got back saying it had been lost and they included a cheque as I'd refunded the buyer back.
now its either one hell of a big coincidence, but the last feedback he left for a seller selling the SAME item, a ps3 controller was "Royal mail's fault but got refund..."
and so now its happened to me as well!! so either this guy is really unlucky with ps3 controllers or hes a scam artist. my guesses is that he works for royal mail or knows someone in royal mail because the tracking infromation still says "in the network ready for delivery"
who knows though, maybe i'm over seeing the whole thing, but to actually think before i sent it that i'd have this problem and it happen seems too much of a coincidence.
any thoughts and if so what action to take?? i know i got my money back, but don't want it to happen to another ebayer!
cheers guys!!

Maybe his postman is the guy caught hiding 60 bags of mail he had no time to deliver.Debt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_

Recorded very rarely tracks and the service is worse than useless- so there is no way of knowing whether he has it or not. Since by your own statement this item shows as not delivered I think you ought to be very careful about your use of the word fraud.
However the fact that RM paid out suggests he may well have issues with his post- i have a family member who has runs where her post just disappears into a black hole somewhere.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree, i have many RD receipts showing still in system and yet these have been delivered but just posting in letterboxes along with ordinary mail and all you get off RM is sorry heres 6 first class stamps, which as i just use the RM online postage services 6 stamps are useless. so now i dont use RD.However the fact that RM paid out suggests he may well have issues with his post- i have a family member who has runs where her post just disappears into a black hole somewhere.
oh so your RM office has one of those too.0 -
I'd be letting the 'buyer' know that you're very concerned at how much of their post appears to be going missing, it must be terrible for them etc etc and how you've done them a favour by contacting RM in the hope that the situation will improve for them.
What a kind soul.

Thanks for the reply guys, yeah Fraud may be a strong word to use, but if he is doing what i think he's doing then it is most certainly classed as Fraud.
but does it not seem a bit weird that the same item bought previously had been lost??
oh and i also forgot to mention, i previously asked the buyer if he has ever had any trouble with mail in the past and his reply was "no never had any trouble with royal mail"
he obviously didn't realize that his feedback he gives others can give a lot away. I may just leave it and forget about it, but we shall see!0 -
Yes, there's lots of fraud via ebay and all business all the time everywhere. It's government policy to allow crime and not to do anything about it. Clear up rate for all crimes except murder is less than 1% in UK. Clear up rate for rape, for instance, was recently extensively publicised in media as currently being 0.16% that's 1 in 600. So you can guess how important fraud is to the government. It's of no importance whatsoever.
So, if you've got the time and energy, you can report it to ebay and the cops but don't expect either of them to care or to do anything about it.0 -
It's worthwhile reporting your concerns to both eBay and royal mail! They will put tabs on both his account and his address!0

Gosh, I had better warn my mother then that she is a fraudster and a cheat and is likely to 'be reported' as she loses so much inward post.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My best mate has had loads of ebay parcels go missing - sometimes multiples of the same thing that have never shown up. So maybe there is a problem??*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Do you know if the house has quite a few occupants? ie house of multi occupancy such as student let, that could be the problem. You can find out if you wish to be PI by using a proerty search for that postcode and house number to see what it looks like. Even google earth may help. The other thing that may be helpful is to give RM the heads up on the address and say that this buyer seems to have a load of post go missing and would they see if there is a problem with mail delivered being reported regularly as you are concerned that this person has so much fail to turn up. Or you could forget about it.
Up to you.0
