    I'm bettng the offers stated 'cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer'

    So maybe if you put 3 books in your basket you'd get 3 for 2 and if you put 1 book in the basket you'd get 50% off. So it's not false advertising, it's just you chose the 3 for 2 option instead.

    In all honesty, it is a little sly to raise the price then put a sale on the item to make the offer look better than it actually is. The new (post-discount price) works out at about 6% off the original price.


    However in reality, it happens all the time, with Boots 3 for 2 Christmas deals for example. The individual prices are shocking, but as a consumer you'd have to pretty naive to think this is not how it works! Hell as a retailer i've done it many times!
