In many parts of the country, private rents are cheaper than social rents, and ALL tenants are protected from the owners maintenance costs.0 -
It must be shocking to have parents that lie, cheat and scam the system at every opportunity. And to think they have brought another 4 people likely to pick up similar habits into this world.
And having a family with 50% higher income than the national average and in social housing? they should be turfed out at the earliest opportunity.
It really is no surprise this country is going to the dogs.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

Honest answer???
I got tipsy at xmas, xmas day to be exact. The contraception split. I actually went to A & E on boxing day and got the morning after pill, because I actually didn't want any more kids after suffering severe PND after the twins birth and had previously asked to be sterilised but was told NO as I was too young. ( was 28 when fell for youngest)
The morning after pill is NOT 100 % my DS is proof of that!!!
My only other option was termination, and I wasn't prepared to do that..... sorry
edited to add, OH works but his wages are nowhere near OP's relations of 60,000. We do pay full rent for the property, which is actually quite a bit more then the rent mentioned.0 -

Ive missed your point here? In your original thread you are asking for advice on how your family can go to the council to ask to upgrade to a bigger house? correct? My point is the salary they are on does not entitle them to any form of social housing and I can not understand why you think they should be?0 -
You have just proven your lack of reading comprehension skills (twice) by accusing the poster lighting up the chalice of being the person who started this thread. They are not. Save your righteous indignation for the correct target, please. Or find a forum which is more suited to your reading-age or something.0

Ive missed your point here?
Yea, you have. And by a considerable margin. In your original thread you are asking for advice on how your family can go to the council to ask to upgrade to a bigger house? correct?
Wrong. It's not my thread.
Wrong. I have asked for no such advice.
Wrong. I have not referred to my family in any way.
Wrong. Just wrong. My point is the salary they are on does not entitle them to any form of social housing and I can not understand why you think they should be?
Wrong. Salary is not a barrier to social housing.
Apart from that, well done.0
