Now, this is getting truly surreal. Where does the OP (Snowy Owl)’s “ex” come into it?

Snowy Owl hasn’t even mentioned whether or not s/he has an “ex”.

LOL, I do have an ex and I am a lady, thank you!

The situation is that my friend had been receiving money from her departed husband to pay household bills eg mortgage, electricity etc etc, and the Sky subscription. He's naffed off with giving her money so has cut it to the bare bones now, barely enough to pay the mortgage in fact, so she's having to make choices about what to pay and what not to pay. Sky is a luxury she and the two teenagers can live without, though the two kids may think differently. She had toyed with the idea of getting someone to phone up and pretend to be her husband to cancel it - I'm glad she hasn't, she would have created even more problems for herself. I'll advise her to write either "gone away" on his letters from Sky, or else his last known address. Her name has never been associated with the subscription even though the money has been coming out of her account.

BTW her 17 year old son recently added "movies" to the subscription...Sky weren't so fussy about speaking to the subscriber then!!

Thanks for the advice everyone, my friend will be very relieved.

Are you actually still under the contract period SnowyOwl?

It's my friend who owns this problem....she can't find the paperwork, the arrogant piece of sh*t she married probably chucked it away. They have had Sky for several years now, so I'd be surprised if the original contract hadn't timed out by now.
