"Sealed Pot Challenge 5"

Hi,
If it's not too late can I join please? I have been reading for a while and this seems like a good place to start, especially as I have 3 sealed pots waiting to be opened for the Christmas shopping this year. What better way to keep me going for next year! I dug out a jar to start with and my opening balance is only 34p, but it's a start right? *grins*keepcalmanddrinktea wrote: »Hello,

Took Mr LC2 shopping. Thought we would get all the Christmas tins, packets, cleaning stuff etc out the way. Printed list of from my supermarket. Easy. Gave DH the list as we got out the car I went and got trolley, large one, first mistake I didn't need a large one as a small one would be easier for me. Ok, fine swap trolley with a smile. He needs the toilet it's cold outside. Worse than a toddler . Right I will wait for you here. Still smiling. He comes back walks past me and goes in shop, Call him back sweetly and we start on the travels. Spends ten minutes looking for the list that I never gave him eventually finds it in his wallet. Didn't ask how it got in there!! Smile a little strained. Then we begin. Do we really need this? Are you sure we need this many? Would the smaller size not do? Have you seen the price of this? This was cheaper last year. I don't like these. No, but I do!! Smile disappeared completely!! and so it went on. Trolley overflowing.Look how many people there are? Why are only 4 checkouts open? . Does everyone need to come out on a Thursday? This checkout is slow. You should have gone on the other one see that lady was behind us and she's paying.Eventually we are there I put on belt he packs no it's not that easy he can't open the bl..... bags!!
I pay with all my valued op ions cards and daily mail cards and 36p.
Is he thrilled ? No , no comment but can we go and have breakfast cos he is starving?? The answer is, NO I need a cup of tea in MY home, sitting in MY chair and a packet of paracetamol's .
And the worse is on the way home he wanted to know if we should go shopping Christmas Eve or the day before for all the fresh food. I think I need a couple of months break !!!Keeping it simple this year. No arguments, no mad shops, no trolleys, no OH/sister/parents chucking stuff in we don't need
Have you thought about maybe getting a veg box or online ordering your xmas food shop?
Oh and none of the bankers left me any coins around the farmers market at lunchtime *huff*Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Hello there.
I'm a newbie but my kids have money tins that they are made to use to save up and I should be doing the same.
I already have a savings pot on the go for my wedding next August, but I really want to put one away ready for Christmas next year. So could I please have a number?
ThanksNinja Saving Turtle0 -
I'm with kerri_dfw - online order or veg box all the way!! DH and I always have a 'disagreement' when out food shopping, it's just not worth my time or sanity  He'd probably say the same thing about me too, if I'm honest
Three shiny £2 coins in piggy today, bring it on! :A

Wyre 34p is a terrific start as you've.....begun saving again! Well done! BTW, it's ever too late here.
Regardless of the time, greenanne, you're still doing well.
I'm so pleased your Terramundi is safely with you and ready for Christmas Day, recurrent-ostrich. Mine came today too and are great! That's 2 presents sorted - and the other from hubby for me!:D
Oooh I've had dreams exactly the same, laisbojar, so horrible too especially at this time of the year!
Excellent work, skilly.
Go on and put the lot in, LAM..so long as you don't need it.
Precise amount don't matter, kerri, it's just to encourage not to be counted by others. BTW, I doubt that poor homeless man would have widdled on your penny...SPAT yes, but no, not widdled, too public. :rotfl:
Brilliant sparky! Good thinking with the April Fools Day opening.:D Re the other bit, I'd have thought you'd have definitely gone for the ar!e one.mud_flower wrote:Was going to buy a newspaper and choccie bar but thought better of it. Very SPC. Sue, will be proud

A great start, quintwins. Are you 1 of 2 or 1 of 5? Or will you now say you're...none of either
Oh dear, LC 2, you had me giggling away at the thought of it all, let alone the mental image of every single bit of it! Sounds just like my DH & I. I really did think he (your DH) would have dropped the list down the loo!!! Thanks so much LC 2, marvellous!
Mine came today, DorsetGirl, they're absolutely gorgeous!!! :j
You're getting the idea, supasick, at a girl.
That's not at all fair that your hubby should get off scot free, nanto3girls, although thinking about it...do you not think you were perhaps better off?! Would you really have wanted LC 2's fiasco?!
High ho, Silver that's 2 x £2 well homed, good work.kirstysmudge88 wrote:I'm getting good at this finding money whilst cleaning gameAnother 2p found today!!!! £5.37 and couting! Wooo

Hiya Caz!!!!! It's so good to see you!! Better late than never! I wondered when you were coming to declare your pot savings..but then I wasn't sure whether it had all been spent on your dear Rosie, so didn't like to PM you just in case.
Excellent savings Caz!!! Could I please kindly ask if you'd C&P it and post it on SPC 4 thread to be found here well as that's where it's all done from - but also it'll push the thread to the top again and - hopefully - remind others.
It's wonderful to hear about how marvellously Rosie's doing, a perfect weight..a Godsend to you too, I'll bet. It's so good to see you, Caz and don't worry, you're in for SPC 5. :j
