Muffin Man 7 - Things get easier. I didn't have any money at all, I was crying myself to sleep and I one day I had to borrow from a friend so I had gas and electric on my key metres. I used to sleep in the same room so we could keep the heat in one room! It was very upsetting. But 2009- 2011 were my clearing years and now I am free and it has shown me how little I can live on. x

Come back Sparky, all is forgiven ;)!! You are sorely missed.

samtoby, I am saving for either an extra payment into my mortgage, or a holiday for DD and myself to Dubai next year. Unfortunately neither may happen as I am currently in the throws of a divorce which may result in DH getting a hefty sum. Fingers' crossed for a fantastic outcome!

£0.85 into the pot last night. I am really getting the hang of this!

I have been rather lax on the SPC this month, in fact on MSE in general. [STRIKE]Including booking, and going on, a last minute skiing holiday[/STRIKE] :o However I have been raiding the bedside table regularly as OH likes to empty his pockets. He finds himself losing some change every now and then ;). Also put in several £1 and £2 coins over the last month, but really no idea how much. However as it stands I'd guess I'm going to struggle to meet my £500, but you never know, it might surprise me.

Managed to pot £7.20 last night, £3.20 change from my GC Feb. budget and 2 shiny £2 coins from Te$co after I spent 70p on a loaf of bread in there.
Started my March GC today and although I have change in my purse, I won't pot any until Sunday just in case I need it.

    Hugs for all.

Hi everyone and a very good evening to you all.
A lot of serious saving still going on I see, well done folks, you're doing yourselves proud! :D
As far as I remember, sparky was only going for a week, maybe wrong, we'll soon see.
Sorry to hear about your laptop screen, fliss, I hope it wasn't too costly, or won't be. One of our DD's kiddies did the same to theirs a year ago - they claimed on the contents insurance - how about you??? Worth looking into!

    Lovely to see you, Kerfuffle!

Well done with your OD etc, Ruth!

Fingers well and truly crossed for you, Susanne. ;)

You never know mfmaybe, it only needs one good run of either luck or work to make the pot bulge..and if it doesn't happen that way then you make sure you still feel so proud with every little bit of savings you have! A lot of folk will be out there squandering every penny while we're saving ours!!! :j It all counts! Good to see you back!

Very well done, Modesty! Oh, I do love those shiny ones.

A whole £7 in the pot and well pleased with it.
All the best everyone and keep safe and healthy.
    Sue x

Well in the end never went out although the weather was lovely here sent DH shopping and he came home with lots of change and a £2 coin :j:j

Myself and DH are going shopping tomorrow for some clothes for me cos it's his birthday. Yes I know that doesn't make sense to anyone else but I need an outfit and we are going out for a meal . I wouldn't want to show him up would I?

    Evening everyone!

Over the last couple of days I've potted £1.13 I think :j. It was payday yesterday and I'm quite annoyed as I've been overpaid - 40hrs extra overtime!!! I had my fingers crossed that it was really correct but nope it's definitely a mistake :( Trouble now is that because of tax, NI, pension contribution and student loan payment I can't work out what I should have got and so don't know what my budget is for the month. Very frustrating for me as I'm budget obsessed :eek::mad:

Anyway had a very funny day dressed up as the Worst Witch for world book day! It was really funny with everyone dressed up...until I opened the door for a delivery man who gave me quite a strange look :rotfl:and I don't think he believed me when I said the whole school was dressed up too!:rotfl:

Hope everyone is enjoying planning their spreadsheets this month grrr
