I think the sealed pot challenge for me will be for my emergency fund as I don't really have one! Will keep the target low to start with so it's achievable at £100 then see how I go...

Added an extra 60p this morning...
    Total £13.85/£100
Cleared £5k debt in 2015 (SO FAR)
Clear remaining balances on 2 credit cards in 2016
    1st credit card @ £599
    2nd credit card @ £1,100
    SAVINGS 2015/2016 - £65.00/£1,000

Anyone else see that Superscrimpers on Channel 4 last night?
I saw some of it and felt quite smug cos Martin's already told us a lot of that stuff. Did go and put my empty washing machine on a really hot wash though and it doesn't smell now so whoopee, I might do that once a month.”
There’s a nation of information on MSE rosyq, it would probably take a lifetime to read it all...and the great journeys, and life stories from people too...I read some of the sections on the OS thread, and what those ladies (and men) don’t know about scrimping/saving, could probably be put on the back of a stamp.
“I saw the superscrimpers and hope the rest of the series improves, but its good to see that I am doing all that I can save money and I hope I can learn more if the superscrimpers notch it up a gear....!!

I agree with other posters, its a nice friendly place to be on this thread.”

You’re right mishmogs...It’s fantastic on here :T, since joining I’ve gotten guidance for all sorts...The majority of people on the forums are brilliant, but you do get the odd spammer, fruitcake  and know it all – but you get that everywhere else too. But the people on this thread are fantastic...it’s a really good group! That’s the equivalent of a man hug for the group :D :rotfl: :D, you might not see another for some time now :p...
I was a bit gutted when they pulled out the sausages on Superscrimpers, I thought they were going to do something spectacular :( (a new option I thought).... I looked at the DW, and said, “you do stuff like that all the time...”. She looked pretty pleased with herself, and said, “I know” :rotfl:.
I’m looking forward to seeing what they do for the £50 holiday, next week...and to see if the wife’s face can scrunch up anymore :p :rotfl: :p... She looked seriously disgusted didn’t she?

Maybe Martin :money:, should go into competition, and pull out some of the thread members on the Superscrimpers :rotfl:...

Bad luck on the car front e4rub...

Just a little bit of shrapnel from us today, having some lean weeks...

    Happy Potting everyone :j

  • Hello, can you please add me? I bought a sealed pot, but subscribed to the wrong thread. :o

Don't laugh, but I have started off my challenge by tipping the grand sum of 7p in. I plan to tip my small shopping change in at the end of each day, and see what I get. :D
    Oh well...

I agree, some of it was a bit obvious, but you've got to start somewhere I guess. And it's good to have a programme on that respects sensible money saving rather than just focussing on the extreme cases.

Come to think of it, I have a tendency to forget the "obvious" stuff like food waste so maybe it's good to have a reminder!

No one would knock that at all, every little helps.

Was meant to be going gym tonight so change from the locker would have gone in. However with a rescheduled driving lesson thats not happening. Don't think I'll have my mitts on anything until friday
