Frustrated, I kind of wish I had kept note of all my potting. I have a tin that you have to open with a tin opener. I do not want to open it because it will mean I have damaged the tin....but on the other hand I wish I knew how much I had potted!

Or just keep it a suprise....I am rubbish at suprises!

Oh dear samtoby, what a dilemma though the title "Sealed Pot Challenge" does sort of give away the fact that, for the majority of us, we don't wish to know how much we've saved...therefore encouraging us even more so to save as much as we possibly can.

All I can advise is, leave your cash in the tin as it is (unknown) and count up all you save from now, then you'll only have the teeniest of surprises at Christmas.

That's your 'random' pot up up and away then, crimson.addict. Re your thoughts of having somewhere where we could all post photos of our pots, we can all do that here if we wish, as well as share different ideas. Or was there something else you had in mind?

I am pleased with myself. I am not being so mean to my pot this year, I am feeding it more gold bits as well as the silver and coppers. I have absolutely no idea what is in it but I want to hit my target and I'm worried that I won't if I am too tight :cool:

I feel really stupid now....yes it is a Sealed Pot Chalenge but some people keep a log of what goes in.

You have no reason to feel stupid. My pot counts my money for me. Some of us are just not that great at waiting for the surprise

If you want to keep track of how much you have that's fine. If you want it to be a surprise that's fine too Its up to you. I think the "sealed" bit is that you don't go in and take money out whenever. Mines not sealed but there's no way to take money off the total of mine without starting from scratch so taking money out is just so not worth it lol

Yes, i love watching my pennies go up and up. if i couldnt see that i dont think i would be bothered too much about saving. now that i can see how much i have i'm off hunting high and low for more money to add im slightly obsessed lol. Its whatever you'd rather do.
