Are you looking forward to Christmas?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    XLC2

Whatever gave you that idea LC2 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Must admit my last post does look a little bit like a xmas tree forest. When I checked it in preview it didn't look too bad. I think someone has sneaked a few extra trees in while I wasn't looking. :D

Actually there I was sat tonight planning what to do for the rest of the week when it suddenly dawned on me how little time is left before 25th  Oh well we'll get there in the end ;).

Been trying to get the enthusiasm up all week to colour my hair at home before I visit the hairdressers on sat morning for a cut (are you taking note Sue very MSE of me do you think) but up to now it just hasn't happened. Lets see what tomorrow brings ....

Hope everyones preparations are going well.

£4.79 sneaking out of my purse and into the pot today. DH says it will come in handy in an emergency, let's hope it never comes to that.

    hiya all

    we are all potting mad,,,,lol

explained to my hubby what my pot was about in very small words and he said thats where all his money was going to!!! bless him ive told him its a saving pot - i think he needs a break soon thank the lord for the few xmas days off he has got.

Anyway i think he is very proud of me when im telling him about the savings im putting away on the shopping etc so i think the penny has dropped lol

what im doing is putting those penny's and other smaller coins less than a 1.00 coin in a seperate little pot and once ive got a pounds or 2 pounds worth i exchange the coins and only put my 1.00 or 2.00 coin in my sealed pot.

ive even got the kids donating a few pence here and there so they can give me a pound coin from their pocket money for the smaller coins adding upto the 1.00- they will eventually get a little treat for helping in this small way im sure in the future.

im sure hubby has sneaked in a few odd pence in the smaller pot when he gets in from the night shift - he always comes home pockets full of screws and nails etc that he finds as roadkill, ive gently asked if he can spot the coins too that would be fab hahahha

i think he has got that message,,,so yeah this is turning out to be a family affair and we are really enjoying it

have a lovely xmas to all and wishing us all a prosperous and healthy new year

    cheers maz:T

A very warm welcome, skintmum2012, it's lovely to have you with us. biggrin.gif Enjoy yourself saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 4 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Hi Save Dosh and well done on buying the bits and pieces for your kitchen with your money. That's fine and therefore, you did save, it was simply needed elsewhere, but that's fine! This thread is the current one (started on 2nd December) and will continue until 29th November 2012. You use the same No as you already have.

GREAT news, fishcakes, though that was a very reasonably priced shawl!!

Thanks a lot for the answer Drinkingchocolate, just wondering.

Awww, bless your little DS, LC 2, a highlight of the year for him, another memory for life for you! :grinheart

Well done, jakes-mum, they'll both be lovely and warm now, though Jake's feet may be soaked!! Just joking, honest. ;) Trust you to put a crude take on your latest savings scheme! You're like a ruddy sea gull!!! :rotfl:

Oh very MSE indeed b_e_g...IF you finally do it! Does it need doing? If you're happy with it why bother, if you're not...get on with it before Santa's here!!! ...and just think of all the loo paper those trees could be made in to!!! :wall:

    Goody goody, Mudflower, 1 closer to a £!!! ;)

Think about that one, ModestyB, if DH thinks of yours may come in handy in case of an emergency he may well be more inclined to hand more bits over to you! ;) Though that may take away the 'thrill of the chase' in nabbing it from his pockets! :rotfl: Always 2 ways to view it!!!

Hi Maz and a very Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you also. I guess some fellars don't really take in exactly what we're doing, and the lengths we need to go to in order to save as much as possible...in time though. How come they'll also take more notice of screws and nails than ash too?!!!!

  • Another shiny £2 in piggy day before yesterday - I even let DH pot that one, he's been feeling left out, aahh :)

Off work this week and haven't spent anything for 3 days, woohoo! Admittedly, I haven't been out of the house either (can't face the heaving masses ;)), so that does help. If this carries on, I'll be able to pot the £15 I have in my purse :D
