Are you using them both over a wireless connection? If so try using one via a usb link. My HP wireless printer is flaky with my wife's Win 7 laptop so she uses USB, the sit next to each other anyway. However my Win 7 64bit PC deals with it fine. Admittedly neither are Mac's but is does highlight that there could be something else wrong here. I wasn't complaining or denigrating HP products at all, simply clarifying to that poster that this thread is not about computers.

(I have an HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m all-in-one, which works fine, so I've no reason to complain).
