When I was expecting twins, I used to embarass my OH by stopping people with double buggies, and asking their opinions and where they purchased them from.

Best to make a list of priorities for what you'll need the pram for I think as the other posters have said , no twin/tandem seems to have it all.
Do you want it for off road/country walks?
Does it have to get easily through shop doorways?
Will it be used occasionally or everyday?
Does it have to fit in a small boot?
Do you want it to incorporate a car seat (or 2)?
Do you need a big shopping basket?
Loads to consider but until you know if it's for 2 or 3 you'll have to wait anyway wont ya! How exciting for you! Good luck with the scan0 -
Worth noting that the warranty on Kiddicare items starts from the "Due Date" not date of purchase, this is definitely the case in store not so sure on the website as i haven't bought anything on line always in store but may be worth phoning to ask.0

I have the Jane Powertin with rebel car seat (baby and toddler) but gr8 for twins.
I think its great fits through front door easily as not side by side and was the only one (except the Graco) that had the car seat facility. Its not that heavy and quite easy to fold etc. There may be some bargains as they changed the spec slightly last year ad I think most places were elling them off cheaper.
Mines Plata as silvery grey as I have one of each!
Congrats by the way!Bit of a Florida Fan :j

Triple buggy - £169.99 suitable from birth. + £35 for a raincover and £14 for a foot muff.
Or 2 of these http://www.preciouslittleone.com/acatalog/buggypod.html
£78 each.

I bought this one in store at Toys r Us for only £140 and I love it. It's a Bruin (Toys r Us own brand) but I suspect that it's made by Maclaren as it's very similar to the duo sport and the maclaren Quest that I already had.
It has everything that I needed on it, is not too heavy and is suitable for my newborn. It fits comfortably through a standard doorway and fits easily into the boot of my Ford Focus. It comes standard with footmuffs and raincover too so is good for walking the girls up to the school to pick up my five year old. It's also easy to collapse and manouvre.
I didn't want a pram where my children weren't sitting side by side and found the ranges available quite limiting."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
So if your son is currently 10 months old. How old will he be when the baby/babies are born?? My daughter was 22 months when my second was born. I bought a double buggy off ebay - but even though it's a good one, we didn't get much use out of it as by that age she wasn't keen on sitting in any sort of pushchair. We have got an amazing amount of use out of the buggy board though, and even though they are expensive - it has been a bargain buy. I would wait until the last minute (e.g. few weeks before baby is born) to see whether your older child still needs a pushchair (obviously if you are having twins this changes things with the double though)0

I would say ask people pushing double buggies around!! I have a Maclarens double suitable from birth - fab and stable - but quite heavy. Now both are around two - it is VERY heavy to push up any kind of incline - remember it's often weighed down with nappy bag, shopping etc too.
I never considered several years down the line - when the kids got heavier too! You could also advertise in a local shop/newsagent - there must be dozens of parents who bought doubles for different age children, only to find they hardly got any use.DFW No. 344
Proud to be dealing with my debts!!:T0 -
Have you considered buying a double buggy like a Maclaren? We had one and it was fine. You could then also invest in a buggypod: http://www.twinsthings.co.uk/buggypod.htm if your little one needs an extra seat for a short space of time.0
