Feel like Groupon & Vista Print Robbed Me Gutted !

My GF picked up some business cards from Vista Print and paid about £12 including p&p a few weeks back, I did the same about a year back and was planning to get some more when I seen a Groupon offer. £12 for a £60 Vista print voucher. Bargain I thought.

Well I spent about 3 hours on the site going through numerous options and fighting all the extras they laid on. A lot of things went wrong during the process and I ended up making 2 calls to them and spending about 30 min on the phone because the Groupon code would not work.

So in the end my cart was £60.05, you must put the Groupon code in here which is before they add shipping and tax which came to £27 _pale_. So I spent £27 plus £12 on the Groupon code bring my total £39 when all I wanted was some £12 business cards.

To make matters worse Vista Print said I needed to pay the full £87 and they would refund the £60.

Groupon should have made it very clear that the coupon did not include p&p and tax etc.

Right now Im mad as hell as I am strapped for cash which is what the business cards were for.

So guys be very wary of the offers on Groupon as some, not all, are not all their cracked up to be.

Vistaprint do frequent offers for free business cards & you only pay the postage which is less than £5. Even if you look on the site it should say free cards under business & home sections.

This can include premium designs - you just have to find the right deal..

I would never pay for an item on Vistaprint - only normal postage rates & get the item "free". E.g. I bought an embroidered (named) xmas stocking & a large calendar with my photos on for £3.70 the lot. So items "free" just paid the postage.

Just keep a look out for deals on this website.

I am sorry to read of your experience, and I am nothing to do with vistaprint or groupon. I just thought I’d put the other side across. I know that Vistaprint has offers, my free calendar cost £3.78, when Vistaprint add the extras. But the hassle of finding these codes for 4 more calendars meant I bought the £12 voucher - it worked fine online. No calls needed.
I got 4 calendars and 20 cards for the voucher and paid cash for the postage. Overall, the cost was £20. I am happy with that.

What a rip off.

It's nice to see the ASA and OFT are investigating Groupon.

The Groupon deal page stated no other discounts would apply. I agree it was bad discounts only came off after the voucher was applied. And since it did not say free P&P you should have realised it would be charged. You say your GF's previous order included p&P so why did you think it would be free this time?

After all the bad press Groupon and Vistaprint have been getting on this site I am amazed that folks would consider using them.

Doesn't anyone read on- line reviews any more?
Just Google Vistaprint review or Groupon review to see what I mean.

The words "pole" "touch" and "barge" spring to mind.

Used vistaprint for the last 4 years for cheap calendars. Just ordered some more at 99p. Only extra was P&P, but calendars still less than £5 each.

Last year they were damaged in transit, they sent four more FOC, so no complaints from us.

I used Vistaprint this year for a photo calendar. The calendar was advertised at 4.99 once going through all the options adding photos at the end a photo uploader fee was charged 1.99 plus to have it on glossy paper was something like 2.99 plus 3.07 for 21 day delivery and then they added tax. It only came to approx £15. I was shocked to find how many different fees I was charged whilst creating my calendar but I decided to buy it. When I received my calendar I was incredibly happy with the calendar, so I think it was a good purchase.

I also use Vistaprint but hate getting their constant emails. I've changed unsubscribed for the time being. I don't get why it costs them around £3.50 to post a small photobook. Even thought some of the offers are free, but I think they pocket some of the P&P and that's why I find their offers misleading. After all, how can a company be financially viable with free items all the time?

I've just ordered some free Christmas cards, 10 for £5.15.
I think most of us know what free means here! It means 'good value'.
It would be good if they cleaned up their act though and were transparent, I'd still buy from them. They don't need to deceive.

I purchased a photo-calendar for free and only paid postage. So pleased I got another, with a bag and mug. Very pleased with Vista print although the incessant e-mails are annoying!
