Yeah, totally understand from their perspective, but still could have had courtesy to reply.
I have done plenty of research, and to be honest im very happy despite the effort/time put in.
At least i know what im paying for and cover involved whereas if i had gone with an advisor i may have just nodded thinking yeah they know their stuff and not really know what cover im getting.
I have taken out the following:
from Cavendish (both with L & G)
Life Assurance JOINT (Decreasing term) = £7pm
FIB (Just me - pays my partner £18k per annum) = £10pm
Unemployment Cover (covers mortgage + 25% payments for 6months) = £11pm via iprotect
So just need to get out something that covers me for long term illness.
Thanks for your advice.0 -
You seem to have done your homework. Its hard to say for sure as i dont know what products you have or your details but as far as the price is concerned it seems quite well priced.
You might just have to do the Income Protection through an advisor if you want cover for everything with no exclusions. Obviously not through one who cant be ...ed giving you a call back though.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi why don't you try a friendly society like Cirencester Friendly. They seemed to have a good plan last time I looked.0

Cirencester have age banded premiums, like most friendly societies, so whilst they will provide a very competitive premium for younger clients the premiums would likely get very expensive when the OP is in their late 40's and 50's.
Depending on the length of time which the OP suffered symptoms of the whiplash I'd be surprised if any company didn't include the exclusion.
OP you could always take the policy and reapply in a couple of years if you are still symptom free. It's also worth noting that LV= (and most other companies in my experience) will consider claims on an excluded body part if an independent medical officer states that the new symptoms and persistency of symptoms is in no way related to the previously disclosed condition. LV= will actually put this in writing for you.0
