Air in pressurised heating system,
I have a four year old house with gas heating, running off a potterton suprima 50L boiler,
The system is installed useing speedefit plastic pipeing, with 10mm supplys to each radiator, including thermostatic radiator valves, hot water is via a Heatrae Megaflo unit,
This is not the best designed or installed system and leaves a lot to be desired,in that respect,
All the downstairs radiators are connected by dropdown pipework from upstairs,
The problem I have, there is a small radiator in the downstairs cloak room, which is not used, and is turned off most of the time,
On occasion I turn this radiator on, the heat is very slow into the radiator but after a couple on miniutes there is a very noticable gurgle of air into the rad and immediately the rad gets very hot, After 3 or 4 days I can repeat this operation, and again I get a surge of air into the rad, The system seems to retain the pressure, with no noticable drop in pressure, when I try and bleed this radiator there is no air emitted, only water, it also seems to affect a couple of the other radiators, that can at times be temperamental,
Any ideas how this air is getting into the system, and any suggestions for a remedy.
