  • Well my DH paid that cheque in for us so we have now achieved the £105 target for this month already! I have carried forward the £6ish on to Feb as hopefully eventually I will get ahead of myself for a rough month.

There should be a few more bits and pieces trickling through as DH has sorted out two bin bags of clothes to go to cash4clothes (about £10), some paypal funds on their way from TCB, a bottle of Jo Malone perfume is selling on ebay for £7.50 at the moment with 3 days still to go, and a mammoth £63 from quidco is due on the next pay date! There are still quite a few things on Amazon marketplace but they don't seem to be shifting.

    Off to update MFW2012!

After putting my £255 overpayment into the mortgage calculator, here are the latest figures:

Previous interest over the term of the loan: £215,769.68
    Previous finish date: Nov 2041
    Overpayments made: £510
    After overpayments interest saved: £634.64
After overpayments finish date: Nov 2041

So my £510 has turned into £634.64, effectively creating £125!

Can't wait for the end date to change! Might be a few months yet though!

Edit: Just realised that the spreadsheet is reducing the payments rather than reducing the term so no wonder it isn't going down!

  • The bonus payments are coming in thick and fast! I sold a couple of perfumes on ebay over the weekend, ones I had used a couple of times and decided I wasn't keen on the smell. One sold for £20 (they haven't paid yet) and one for £18.99. I just wrapped them up ready for posting.
My paypal has about £25 ready for transferring out but the TCB payment clears tomorrow so I will wait and withdraw it all at the same time.

I did some overtime on Christmas eve, and the payment has just gone into my account, so I have transferred it straight into the overpayments account.

Quidco have sent me an email to say my bumper payment is on it's way so that will get moved over when it clears.

All of this leaves me with a bit of a (nice) dilemma: I am getting ridiculously far ahead of my target with all of these extra bits and bobs, so do I carry on getting further and further ahead? It looks like I might need to rethink my targets.:undecided

The parcel I sent to Music Magpie seems to have got lost in transit, they keep emailing me to remind me to send it. I'm not too bothered as it was worth about £11 and has done me a favour by clearing some clutter. But on the other hand, I'm annoyed with myself for not getting proof of postage like they advised me to.

It's amazing now I am documenting all of the bits and bobs I do to raise extra cash. I didn't realise how much cash was just getting absorbed into my account without me realising.

  • I received my bumper Quidco payment today of £63.51 so that has been transferred into the overpayments account. That leaves £40.17 to find before the end of March to keep on track! I think that is definitely do-able!

I have sold a book on Amazon today for £19 something as it is out of print so worth a bit more second hand. Annoyingly enough, the winning bidder of the Jo Malone perfume I sold on ebay didn't pay up. They had 0 feedbacks so either doesn't understand how the system works, or just enjoys registering and wasting people's time.

Oooh, which Jo malone smell was it? I just got some for Xmas and love it.....
  • It was Red Roses. I bought Pomegranate Noir at the same time and I love that but for some reason the roses one makes me feel a bit sick after a while! I relisted it and it fetched £21.40 this time, so maybe fate stepped in to earn me £1.40 more towards the target!

  • I have just checked my bank and there has been a couple of little payments: £4.82 from paypal (ebay sales) and £2.69 from amazon marketplace sales. So that's £7.51 off the total! I've listed quite a few things on ebay tonight and quidco emailed me to say they are sending me £10 so that should clear sometime soon.

OK, checked my bank again today and quite a few payments have appeared!
    £22.17 from Amazon sales
    £10.60 from Quidco
    £24.40 from ebay sales.

So that's £57.17 off the target! Looks like I'm into April's target now, still feels a bit silly being so far ahead.

We had a refund on our water bill from the old house come through recently, so that's another £46.27 into the overpayments account!

My other entrepreneurial venture has paid off recently: We brought back some UGGs from Vegas that were in the sale over there. We managed to sell them on ebay for £44 profit!

    So that's £90.27 in total.

I've changed my sig now as I was getting into May's target! So I have now written it as £1260 in 2012 to find, with a monthly target of £105 (just to break it up into little milestones).

  • I transferred £21.18 from paypal today, more ebay sales! Two of my buyers from my last lot of sales haven't paid. One of them sent me a message as soon as the auction ended saying he thought my item was something else so I wanted to change his mind. Grrr! How about you check what you're bidding on before you bid!! The annoying thing was that there were 12 watchers and plenty of bids, so if only this dude hadn't leapt in there with his final bid then it would have sold. I have relisted it but will open a dispute with ebay so he gets a black mark against his name.
