Cheapest mobile phones - just a handset?
Hi all,
Looking for a replacement phone for an elderly relative abroad, so need a very basic handset only. Now all the phones I have found so far are on PAYG and as such you have to buy top up at the same time as handset.
DOes anyone know of websites where I can just buy basic phone, without the need for SIM topup?
Many thanks

The cost of the Pay As You Go handsets from shops are almost always supplemented with the requirement to buy a tenner or something credit as well - £50 plus £10 topup or words to that effect.Come on, it's not rocket surgery is it?0

£4.90+£10 at e2save/osps.
Go through TCB, convert £10 into £6 at Getpoundsback and the phone will cost you £6ish.0 -
Depending how much you want to pay, there are lots on Amazon - search for "unlocked mobile phones". Then all she needs is a local sim card.0

In the end I came across a really good deal for the phone on Tesco direct - it is unlocked phone for under £15, which with the Tesco voucher exchange (£5=£10) worked out at less then £10 and no worries about getting it unlocked eitherDon't get mad, get even :A0
