Switching Broadband providers from Plusnet to erm..Plusnet?

Hi all

Bit of a strange query I have, but basically the phone line in a shared house is with BT (Mum owns the phone line).. She's just had the e-mail for the BT price increase & would like to switch suppliers. I'm with Plusnet for the Broadband (now out of contract), but would like to continue to use them as I like their service.. However, we also want to take advantage of a "complete" deal & in our case the cheapest deal in the circumstances is as a new customer with one provider. Theoretically, could I request a MAC code from Plusnet, Mum cancels with BT & takes a brand new phone & broadband 12 Month contract with Plusnet (using the MAC code given), and taking advantage of the better deal?

;)

    Hi there,

If the broadband is already on the same line you don't need a MAC code or anything, you should just be able to transfer the phone line from BT to us with no down time on either service. You won't even need to recontract with us (though there's no contracts on the broadband, you can leave with only ten days' notice).

All you need to do is log in to your members centre on our website and hit the 'product change' link at the top. If you select the same broadband product it will offer you our home phone selections, choose the one that's right for you and the process to transfer the line will be started for you.

    Hope that helps, cheers,
