You can make a one off payment for the half price box, I have just done this now.
  • Thank you bebewoo and ss3n08 for your responses. I have indeed just made a one off payment for the half price box also. I notice there is a 14p Visa charge which isn't much but card charges are a pet hate of mine.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't had a veg box since the Abel & Cole experience and probably won't again for sometime. I now only use supermarkets.
I'm moving to a flat at the end of the month and hoping to find a local green grocer instead.
Also going to setup a herb & salad window box, to grow my own. Any tips would be handy!
:) Thanks to all who post comps! :)

It's 29p visa cc and 20p visa dc for the boxes I looked at (at full price), so it either varies with cost or it was given half price as part of the discount.
Annoying that you find out only when you go through check out.

It may have been there on the website as I didn't look for it to be fair. I just assumed it would be 14p normally perhaps you are right it may have been because it was not the usual full price but the half price offer.

You want to be careful with Abel and Cole as they resort to pester power when you cancel your orders. Never in all my life have I had to deal with a company who refuse to take no for an answer.

I live near a good fruit and veg market and Abel and Cole is very expensive in comparison and the quality is poor. I will not pay top whack for soft, spongy carrots and three plums.

How else are you expected to pay? If you can only pay by card its a bit unfair that you will always get charged.

That's good, I'll do that. I know its only a few pence but I hate paying anything that's not necessary!

Yeah I'm having that problem now! Had 3 phone calls from them with new offers - I answer and asked to be removed from their mailing/calling list, told I will be and then the process starts all over again.
Same problem with the emails, unsubscribe does nothing - so I label it as spam and hope it gets filtered out.
